Motivation

Hi and thanks for your comments on my thread. I was feeling a little low on motivation myself but once again, all the support of this group has lifted me up. I was reading through your posts and you were doing great. I think we all slip up from time to time. Habits are so hard to break. I bought a b...

31 and 3

I'm baaaack! The system didn't recognize me after my daughter made some changes on our computer. I couldn't remember my password so I had to get a new one assigned. Then I screwed that one up. Reinhard helped me get back on track and now I have my password written down and hopefully will not lose it...

Habit

That's an interesting question. Habit. Hmmmm. The first 21 days were a breeze for me. I thought, wow, this is my road. I can do this forever with my eyes closed. Then I started having days with funny stuff or total blow out days where I was back to saying, I'll start over tomorrow. Then I think I cr...

Glad to hear you are hanging in there, Cynthia. I think we have all been there trying to find our way through. You sound a little like my daughter. She has been working on No S too and not always succeeding the way she would like. Like her, you often skip meals and substitute with caffeine drinks or...

I totally agree on arbitrary rules. My boss is always saying if Sue doesn't question a new rule, no one will. Ever see V for Vendetta? That's me or actually my husband and me. The more freedoms we toss away the less we all are. Not the forum but we were just wondering this morning what a market anar...

Maybe for you, eating "no more than" 3 times a day might work. The description after your name sounds like you are a person who doesn't like rules and there are very few here. Eating no more than 3 plates of food a day is really the only one. That and having freedom on weekends which should appeal t...

Wow, I'm very impressed. Hope you made it through that candy aisle. Only one day to go until it is guilt-free. There is a show on cable called "Honey, we're killing the kids". It's a sort of cool idea. They take a family where the kids are on the large size or kids that have really bad eating habits...

You can't do better than that for a first day. You have already discovered the best parts of no S. Good meals, nothing forbidden, healthy exercise and wonderful weekends. There are no downs here if you are commited. Welcome.

24-2 with one funny thing. I had a little glass of Baileys when I got home tonight. Did a 12 hour day at work today and I was bone tired. I needed a pleasant, indulgent moment. There are 5 of us who are phone contacts for our suppliers. We are overworked on the best of days. We have commented that b...

It's Tuesday and I am at 23-2. I love this new plan. I guess I am competitive even with myself. I have been doing good even though we have been eating more salt lately. We are gardening every night and meals have to be quick so we don't waste too much time in the kitchen. Next week I hope to make th...

The no sugar thing is not like Atkins or South Beach. There is no restriction on bread or carrots or oranges or anything like that and as Cynthia said, a little sugar in your coffee or on your cereal is ok too. However, donuts, cookies or marshmellow cereals are a no. I think if you ask yourself, is...

I agree with what everyone said above. I think it may be a mistake to ditch the S days. I have been keeping score lately with my progress. My current score is 22-2. 22 days on plan and 2 failure days. It has been working good for me. I added another part to the plan starting this morning. I will try...

Thanks, Deb. I am impressed too. The weekend was also pretty good. I am going to add a weekend assessment to my scoring plan. I will try to be honest with myself on Monday mornings. I like easy and little cooking too especially in summer. We're gardeners and the more time I can be outside the better. Friday success. 20 and 2

Total success today. Wasn't even particularly hungry. Isn't it odd how it goes with hunger levels?? Charity and I had a lovely time after supper sitting around a fire outside with a gimlet. Very relaxing and had a really nice talk. One of those memorable moments in parenthood. Today life is good.
