Last night I did the shovelglove while watching this Thai tv show called Sau Ha which is a crazy superhero show. To make it interesting I did the butterchurn exercises, which I call the hardbar because it is the way I actually did the hardbar and I never actually did churn butter, for the entire time show was on until first commercial break. I switched hands after every ten reps. Then during commercial break, which is a pretty long while on these shows, I did right side shovel moves. When show came back on I did right side woodchopping exercises, which I also call rockbreaking because again this is what I do at farm. For chopping wood I use chainsaw. I did this until next commercial break, then back to left side shovel moves, and then when show came back did left side rock breaking moves. I did this non-stop for 42 minutes which is like 3 days of 14 minute routines but gym was closed yesterday so I had more energy. Doing it during tv show made time go by and I plan to do it again tonight.

Thanks for posting your routine!

For the last year or so, I've usually been watching the news while shugging (the Jim Lehrer News Hour).

Not only does it make the time go by astonishingly quickly -- but I think it actually saves me time because then I'm less tempted to check internet news sites during the day.

The only problem is my wife has to do some serious fast forwarding during the uninteresting parts to compress the news hour into 14 minutes. :-)

If you watched "Bill O'Reilly" you might cause some unintentional damage to your furniture.

phayze - I have seen how close your SG'ing is to your TV on your youtube clips - you don't need to see FOX to have additional motivation to smash it!

(I am Australian and we don't get Bill O'Reilly [thankfully] but I know enough about him from Youtube. Anyone who yells ridiculous things like "CUT HIS MIKE!" etc I start to go Zzzzzz)

I tried SG'ing when watching FOX but I could only shovel snow to the RIGHT, the RIGHT, to the RIGHT, to the RIGHT... [or maybe they were shovelling something else? Hmmm....]

[ok, that one was pretty lame - but I've got to get my puns where I can!]

Yesterday I did shovelglove while watching tv again but my girlfriend was sewing slipcover for sofa in living room and I did not have room to swing hammer so I did butterchurn which I call hardbar for the 14 minutes as you do not need much room to do them. Honestly I find personally that if I do all the movements that 14 minutes is not enough time for me. So sometimes I do like multiple workout. 14 minutes of shovel and then 14 minutes of woodchopping and like that. But it is an individual thing I am sure and whatever works for that person is great.
Also I know what you mean about wanting to smash tv during the news, but I have the same problem with CNN.

Last night I did the shovelglove watching TV again. I did it 28 minutes straight but only did the wood chopping motions which I call rock breaking as this is what I usually do with sledgehammer. Did 14 minutes on right side and 14 minutes left side. Was sweating pretty good and plan to do more tonight.

Last night I did shovelglove for 30 minutes. 15 minutes of woodchopper-rockbreaker from right side and 15 minutes of shovel also on right. I did this because both of these work out the biceps. The woodchopper works the right one and shovel the left. If I do more than the 15 minutes of either one, I find I cannot do as many pullups next day, which I also like to do.
I did this last night watching movie The Day the Earth Stood Still. Not bad but not as good as the original, in my opinion.

Last night did shovelglove watching tv again. Did 14 minutes of wood chopper and 14 minutes shovel and 2 minutes punching motion so 30 minutes. Problem was the hammer is covered in crochet so cat thinks it is scratching post so tries to jump on it and almost got smashed.
By the way I would have the same desire to smash tv watching MSNBC or CNN as some of you guys do watching the Fox news. Anyway the tv is safe because I do not have satellite dish and therefore do not get any of those channels.

I've done this a couple of times. The first two segments of "The Daily Show" online add up to about 14 minutes, so I tried doing Shovelglove while watching the show on my computer. I found that I was losing track of the count or not getting the jokes--I wasn't really enjoying the show or the shugging. I think I'll stick with my 14 minute playlist, though I'm glad it works for you!
