2 Year Check in

(New!) Read (or post) about people who have stuck with No-S for 10 or more months, lost 10 or more pounds, or 10 or more percent for their starting weight. Periodic updates strongly encouraged -- you can think of it as "Yearly Check In."

2 Year Check in

Post by Jvcnm » Sat Jan 01, 2022 4:18 pm

By some miracle, I'm still doing No-S with an "every day" mod (i.e. - I do No-S on weekends as well). Link to my Year 1 Check in: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=12464

I went completely off the rails for 4 stressful days in May. I had an unconventional way of stopping myself which may or may not be helpful to others. Here's what I did:

1) Thought of a politician who I would never, ever want to support ("Politician X")
2) Thought of someone I wouldn't want to lie to (my daughter)
3) Made a specific pact with myself ("I will eat 3 plates a day, no snacks, no sweets, until at least July 15")
4) Called my daughter, told her my pact, and said "If I break the pact, I'm going to send $100 to Politician X's campaign fund."

I must have read this technique somewhere. Anyway, it worked.

Thank you, Reinhard. I've been on and off diets for 45 years. NoS is the only thing that's ever worked for more than a few months. And it just feels right.

Great to hear of your success, especially how you dealt with going off the rails.
Three meals a day - not too little not too much, but just right
