Starting at 280 lbs (give or take), picture was from 2005 but started No S in 2007...

I'm now holding at 215 lbs due to adding "starches" as an S. I'll snap some new pics asap. Sorry the Nautica T shirt was donated as it's was way to big for me now. So I guess the next pictures will have to feature items from my new wardrobe.

My goal right now is to get down to 180 lbs this year. Slow and Sure

No S works,, period.

Dave,

Congratulations and THANK YOU -- not just for posting your very impressive story here, but also (especially!) the pictures.

You've joined the elite band of "founder beating" success stories (-50 pounds vs my 40).

And that's BEFORE your tweak, which brought you down another 15.

Looking forward to more durings! (gotta post my 2008s, too...)

Dave,

That's great to provide these pictures! What I have observed is that there seems to be an emphasis on speed of weight loss instead of permanence of weight loss -- for example, with the show The Biggest Loser.

Just the other day, my sister in law told me this diet is just common sense and she would lose weight faster than I would. Well, she's been on and off Atkins for years, and her weight has gone down -- and up.

It's nice to see such great results as reinforcement for me when my sister in law was so disparaging of this diet. It hurt what she said, and it will be a long time before weight loss from this diet shows for me because I am so overweight. I won't see my sister in law again until May, and by then I hope my weight will be down another 10 pounds. The weight loss probably won't be noticeable for another year or two.

What I have to keep in mind is the results that can be achieved with sticking with this diet for as long as you have!!! Thanks for showing picutres that are a great encouragement to me!

It's always great to SEE the progress in addition to hearing the story. I'd post mine, but I'm in my boxers in all of them and the internet may not be ready for that!

Great work!

Go Sox!

I don't know how big that shirt is but you look pretty darn good in your second pic. However, the bigger congratulations is for finding a plan you can live with and living with it. You give us all hope.

So interesting that this got bumped up. I posted that I was impressed that he had found a way to eat sustainably. At that point, I had had one good week, I think, just before Thankgsgiving of 2008. I did not really commit and make it a habit until nearly a year later. That was nearly nine years ago. I wobble but I will be forever grateful for No S.
