I'm in! April wasn't my best month. I want May to be better.

1. Success!
2. Fail I ate a bunch of junk tonight. :x
3. S Day. Since I have the mod of allowing myself a small amount of sweets each day, I don't do traditional S Days, but I do relax my eating on the weekends (such as the occasional snacks, a less healthy breakfast, etc...)
4. S Day
5. Success!
6. Fail
7. Fail I didn't quite follow No S today, but I came much closer, so I'm calling today a minor fail.
8. Fail
9. Fail I had a great morning and afternoon, but it went downhill in the evening. Oh well.
10. S Day
11. S Day
12. Fail I had a little bit of a hard time getting back on track after this weekend, but my eating wasn't too excessive.
13. NWS Day. My DH and I went on our first date in 3 months. :D
14. Success!
15. Fail
16. Success!
17. S Day
18. S Day. Both S Days were very tame. :D
19. Fail
20. Success!
21. Fail I was really stressed out about a couple of upcoming medical tests. I talked to some family members, and I feel a little better now.
22. Success!
23. Fail
24. S Day
25. S Day Both days were very tame. :D
26. NWS for Memorial Day
27. Fail
28. A very minor fail, because I had a small bag of chips between lunch and dinner. Otherwise, it was a good eating day.
29. NWS day. I had some medical tests today.
30. Fail Not a horrible eating day, but I keep eating after dinner. :(
31. S Day

12- S Day (son's BD)
Tues, 13th-:)
Wed, 14- Fail.... made it 30 minutes
Thurs, 15- Total Fail, like the WTH effect this week!!!
Friday, 16- FAIL
Sat, 17-S Day
Sun, 18- :) (YAY!!!!!)
Mon, 19 - :) YAYYYYYY!
Tues, 20 - :)
Wed, 21 - :)
Thur, 22 - :)
Fri, 23 - FAIL
Sat, 24 - S Day
Sun, 25- :)
Mon, 26 - :)
Tues, 27 - S Day (strep throat)
Wed, 28- :) (had a moderate goal of 30 minutes because I have strep throat)
Thur, 29- :)
Fri, 30- :)
Sat, 31 - S Day

Looks like I had 5 fails this month. Not bad. The rough patch really came with two events: 1 was my son's birthday week (3 fails); and a night with visitors that I was overambitious.

All in all, this month went better than I might have expected. I'm proud of myself, I guess (which probably means I'll do awful in June!!) :)

During the whole month of April I was coming here wanting to jump in with the challenge but afraid that it would be like the other times when I do so badly that I just stop reporting it (and April was a really really bad month). I'm going to try for 1 week. It won't be completely no S. I'm going to try and tackle my biggest issues first.
No sweets / No cereal after supper / Walk on most days (even if it's just a walk around the block) -- just get up and do it!

Here it goes... No sweets / No cereal after supper / walk

This was not my best month. I really struggled with eating late at night, for a variety of reasons ( I'm working on breaking myself of that habit). On the positive side, I didn't gain any weight. :D

clarinetgal, I hear ya. I've been having a bad time with "witching hour" eating (2:30- 4:30) that then often goes on all evening. This has been going on off and on for a few months. I know why but I don't know how to fix it just yet. Rather annoying after 4 years, but I'm hoping it's the last hiccup before I get to the five-year gold standard.

Been trying to do reading to increase my motivation to exercise more, as I know that is my real next best step, if health is any motive at all. I don't really expect it to make a huge difference in weight. I think only peace with other parts of my life can do that. And that's not something No S can fix.

Oolala, It definitely sounds like a rough patch, but I'm sure you'll find a way out of it. I do think regular exercise will really help you. I know it has helped me, in terms of improvement of mood, mobility and flexibility, better blood work, etc... It doesn't help me lose weight, but it makes it easier for me to maintain weight. Yes, I think there are other factors in life that can help or hinder weight loss.
