Hello,

I am just reading more about this concept. Can a few of you give me a typical meal plan of what you eat on a n and a s day?

Thanks.

A typical N Day for me:
B: coffee with cream
L: chicken pot pie, apple, clementine
D: spaghetti, garlic bread

I'm unusual in that I only eat two main meals. However, I put so much cream in my several cups of coffee that I'm sure I get plenty of "breakfast" calories. :) I'm sure you'll see lots of other postings and get lots of ideas!

I try to have two light meals and one more substantial meal. I've never been much of a breakfast eater, so that's usually only coffee.

B (if I have it) toast and fruit, sometimes an egg

L soup, bread and fruit - sometimes I'll have a salad or sandwich

D I aim for 1/4 of my plate to be some kind of protein, 1/4 some kind of starch and the remainder to be vegetables and fruit. Have you heard of Mark Bittman's VB6? He eats vegan meals for breakfast and lunch, then has whatever he wants for dinner. I often have whatever I want. One plate. I don't worry about it much.

Wosnes, it is an interesting concept to eat vegan breakfast and lunch and then what you want for dinner, are you at a healthy weight or have you lost doing it this way?

Automatedeating, I see you have lost, have you lose weight by eating this way and do you exercise also? I am the same height and age as you and I remember being 137. I was also happy being 143. Now I am 153 and am desperately trying to lose 10 pounds. I also see you have lost 1-2 pounds per month. It gives me hope to see this because I have been at a year long plateau and I know that to lose true fat I have to lose it slowly. I will try to remember that when I am discouraged about losing so slowly.

Though some of my breakfasts and lunches are vegan, I don't necessarily strive for that. Bittman's plan was an example.

I have lost weight doing this and I could lose more. Part of my problem is that I'm older, smaller and unable to be very active. I don't need very many calories!

Yep, Vanilla NoS is how I have lost about 10 pounds. After a month of NoSing, I suddenly found the energy to walk to and from work (4 days/week). I had a history of trying intense exercise and then quickly quitting, but I have stuck with the walking for 8 months! And, just to be clear, my walking is truly just a walk--no speed-walking here. I only get sweaty on the uphill parts. :)

Can I ask how far you walk or how long?

It's about 5 miles round trip (90 minutes round trip). The way to work is mostly downhill, the way home is mostly uphill.

How I ate in the first year is not the same as how I eat now, 40 lbs. lighter. I wanted bigger meals and overate on weekends. Now N day breakfasts are very small, lunches rather small, dinner moderate to big. S days have gotten quite moderate but vary in meal numbers and content.

Small to me is 1-1.5 fist-sized volume of dense food such as a mix of starch, fat, and/or protein.
