Hello.
I just wanted to join in the conversation. I see a lot of old posts, but it makes me happy to see people are still talking about the issues. I have figured out a lot from these boards, but I do wonder...

What do your S days look like?

Hello, cocobea! Welcome. My s days are still pretty crazy. I usually buy stuff Friday night that I'm looking forward to eating on Saturday. Saturday is pretty much a junk food fest. Sunday is much better.... Usually a sweet treat after lunch and maybe some snacking while watching tv that evening.

Welcome! I'm so happy you're here! This will change your life...for the better. I try to keep my S days pretty moderate, healthy snacks like fruit or nuts, maybe a fruit smoothie or a KIND bar. If I'm REALLY feeling like a splurge I will have ice cream or candy. The key word is TRY...lol! I'm still pretty bad but getting better! Good luck on your journey! Keep us posted, swing by the daily check in if you feel like it!

Another Question

Thanks!
I did have another question. Do you count a day as green if you didn't exercise? Is it just about the food?

Yes exercise is a great extra, but you can be green without it.

Good to know.
Also if I drink wine should it be with a meal only or may I enjoy a glass at the end of the evening? Not sure if that would make it a treat.

Hi cocoabea,

My first S day was fairly indulgent. I ate a small b'fast and then went out for coffee with friends and had a piece of very rich coffeecake. Then hubby wanted to go out for lunch so we shared a ham and cheese on a baguette and also shared a small container of deli potato salad. Both had mayo which made me feel so guilty! I made spaghetti with real meat sauce for dinner but only had one portion and a small salad. I'm sure I had something for dessert but can't remember what. And I snacked on some tortilla chips. Yikes!

But Monday I had a nice, green N day.

Welcome!

Sometimes my S days are a bit crazy, but they are less so than they used to be. My favorite S days are the ones where I plan a special treat.

For example--my son is away from home right now, and last Sunday I baked chocolate chip cookies--some to send, and some for us to enjoy. That was a nice treat to enjoy with my family.

This week my husband and I are going to check out a new-to-us coffee place and I'll get a specialty coffee (the kind that are really more dessert than coffee)--fun time out together and a treat I really enjoy.

Having a treat to look forward to is good motivation throughout the week to, to stick with it. (Those chocolate chip cookies are staring at me every day right now--but I know I can have more this weekend!)

Green days--green is whatever you want it to be. I think most people separate the eating habits of NoS from their exercise habits. You can make additional habitcals and label what each one is. Set your weekly exercise goals, and keep track if you like. I just track eating habits for now, and try to walk most days.
