I'm back again. Really going to crack it this time

Hi everyone. After a year or more struggling in the wilderness, with severe immune system Health problems. I am now just starting to sort my life out. I have flirted with fasting but it causes my disordered eating to get out of control. So I am coming back to noS. it makes the most sense to me and I feel if I can crack it there will be a more settled and secure future ahead of me. I need to lose about 21lb. So started last week. Managed the week lost 2 lb and then had a rather wayward day today. But I know It is an S day so I'm trying to stay calm. Anyway. Have decided to log in and track my progress publicly to hold myself accountable. So fingers crossed. im 62 years old. I now weigh 206 lb. I have high blood pressure and bad inflammatory arthritis. But my first aim is to lose 7 lbs by Xmas. So here goes. 🙂[/code]

Welcome back! I hope it goes better for you this time. I agree, No-S makes so much sense. Focus on habits and getting that disordered eating to be more normal. When you have habits in place for a few months, then if the weight isn't coming off, you can look at how to tweak things, and we're here to help! Don't worry about the S days--focus on getting the N days under control as Reinhard says. Hang in there!

Being convinced this is your best bet goes a long way. Your health conditions are certainly great justification for moderation and for habits that support reversing them, or at least not making them worse. It's definitely doable! Hang tough!

I know you can do this. It's been a long road for me but the weight is finally coming off & best of all it feels great to feel in control of my eating (most days!).

Hello lovely people who replied to support me. Linda dear friend so glad you remember me, and dear iron chef, I feel very blessed. Everything has gone wrong with a sudden close bereavement so I am steeped in sadness at the moment hence no posts and no progress. I still drown my sorrows in food :-( I keep thinking noS though and I shall be back. I hope you find me again dear friends x

Hello tessytwinkle. Glad to see you here. I suffered from arthritis mostly back in my 30's and my sister who was a physical therapist sent me this book by Paavo Airola. It helped me a lot. While he does recommend diet changes, it would work well within the No S framework too. Maybe you've already read it or heard of him. A side benefit was I lost a good bit of weight too. Good luck with your Christmas goal.

Thank you dear friends for such kind words. I am starting to surface so hoping to get to grips with the NoS way of life starting today. I think I will start a daily check in and monitor and be accountable, its worth a try :-) Thank you for your kind encouragement Sonya and delighted to see you still here Eschano!!! Hi Found this site today via a help for binge eating site, had already eaten three biscuits before I came across it but am looking forward to trying it out. 52 years old and binge eating, yo yo dieting since 10 so I have nothing to lose by giving this a try. Went shopping today and even that was different using the principles. Meat balls and cheese would have avoided this food normally. Will also try to post daily.

Hi Brocky and welcome. I am almost 2 months into No S and finding it life changing. I am 42 and like you was put on a diet at a young age (12) and have been yoyo dieting ever since. I truly feel I have hope of gaining a normal relationship with food by following NoS, in fact I would say I am on my way there! Good luck and keep posting, I have had some great advice and support on these boards. :)

Brocky, looking forward to reading your thread. The more you are sure the old options are out for you, the more you'll be able to surrender to No S. I've been quoted or paraphrased as saying, as one who was a disordered eater for 38 years, No S can be hard; it just turns out that everything else is harder.
