December challenge

As much as I want to modify, I’ll focus on a Vanilla December and weight maintenance (I’m pretty much at my ideal weight now).

I will also do a type of “S†day glass ceiling- alcohol on “Sâ€elebrations and saturdays this month (Dec 6, 17, 24, 25, 31 are the days I have “Sâ€elebrations).

I know I will have several non weekend S days due to 2 different Christmas celebrations. So far my proposed other S days will be December (17), 24 (maybe- i think i could just promise myself a skinny peppermint mocha and call it green) 25, 28.

A huge success would be honestly finishing one of these challenges but checking regardless of my success or not!

12/3-12/7- I think I had one Green Day, the rest were red. They range from slight red to truly red!!! Hoping for a better week.

Unfortunately, I’ve never been able to figure out the smiley charts!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

I'm in for a mostly Dry December accountability effort. Motto: My kids don't need to drink to have fun; why should I?

1- red because we have leftover wine & a party tonight - this is the same as Dry September, when on the 1st day of the month we were at a wedding. ;-)
2- Red (leftover wine from the party.....)
not exactly an auspicious start to the month.
3- GREEN 8)
4- GREEN
5- GREEN
6- FAIL - wine at date night
7- FAIL
8- Be green, be green, be green, you can do it! RED
9- RED Yeah, this is kind of embarrassing
10- RED
11- RED
12- RED
13- RED
14- RED
15- GREEN
16- RED
17- GREEN
18- GREEN
19- GREEN
20- GREEN

Fridays and Saturdays will be my S days, due to my son not having school on Fridays and we sometimes like to grab a cupcake together at a bakery. I have NWS days on the10th and 24. I also have a gathering this Thursday in the evening so will make that an s event. I might even keep it green if the dessert being served doesn't catch my fancy.

Yay another monthly challenge! Ok, I am all in this month. My Grandma passed away last month, and I was just trying to keep my sanity through it all.

Anyway, new month, New Monday.

Today's lunch was bigger than a plate, so it's a red day. BUT dinner in about 30 minutes will fit on a plate. Marking it and moving on...

Traci,
When you are posting a reply, an array of emoticons should pop up on the left side of your screen. Simply click on your choice of smiley or red "oops". For green, click "View More Emoticons" & a new display pops up which has it.
Hope that helps.

I managed to white-knuckle through November with only one Fail.
Hope I can hang in there for December.

24-31 is all Vacation & my house is overflowing with special treats (not my choice). I will allow myself to count those days green if I have no more than 1 S per day. I want to avoid going completely Stupid.

:) :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :oops: :mrgreen: :)

:) :)

06 = Fail = half of a triple-chocolate muffin. Yes, it was yummy but definitely not S-worthy.
18 = Pink = eggnog on my breakfast oatmeal + tiny smidgeon to "coerce" toddler to try a new food (her lunch time, so Snack? for me)
19 = Pink = lunch "protein bar" from a friend that was WAY sweeter than anything I would have chosen
20 = Fail = total pig-out on Christmas goodies
21 = NWS = special dinner party
24 = Fail = too many goodies
25 = NWS = Christmas Day
26 = 1 S = slice of pecan pie leftover from yesterday
27 = 1 S = small dessert with dinner
28 = 1 S = small extra helping at dinner
31 = NWS = more of a party day than tomorrow should be

My 1 S mod for the last week definitely helped me remain sane.
I am VERY happy with only 3 NWS days.

OK. After 10 years of this, I still can't figure out the emoticons. When I select the green, it just says Mr. Green and doesn't put in the emoticon. When I select a color it does the same...just says the color name.

After a very sad November effort I’m definitely in with vanilla no-s and a mod for an allowed fourth small snack plate as I’m breastfeeding and sometimes starving but no other other mods. So far so good.
1 - S day
2 - S day
3 - green
4- green
5- green
6- green
7- special day
8- s day
9 - s day
10- green
11- green
12- red
13- green
14- green
15- S day

TexArk,

Yes, as you are composing your post, only the codes for the emoticons appear.
But if you click the Preview button, your post will be displayed as it will be entered on the Board.
The emoticons should display properly in the Preview.
When you click the Submit button, your post will show exactly as in the Preview (not with all the codes as you are typing).
The colons, square brackets, & slashes are what alert the computer to translate into the emoticons, colors, bold, special font, etc.

If you look at my check in thread I can't get it to do show the emoticon, but here on this board it will do so. Weird!!

So far the challenge has been less than successful for me, but I’m not giving up and I will keep checking in. I may resurrect a check-in thread, so when I am successful I can look back and see what was keeping me on track!!!

I have not been even close to successful this first week of December and haven't been compliant since at least July. Maybe thinking of myself being on the challenge will help.

I have only two weeks of my teaching career left. It is after the students leave that I usually break down and eat outside of meal time. Wouldn't it be great if I didn't just "eat the last weeks away", as if I have to get all my eating in before I go back on a diet? That I felt I could start my road back to normalcy now? I know I would feel a real sense of accomplishment.

I agree!
I still haven’t captured a green this week. I’m feeling off with some other changes I’m making. I listened to a YouTube video today. She was talking about NOT waiting until January to make changes. Start now! You’ll be so happy when January comes and your habits are already in place (and without the extra weight).

Ok- looking for green tomorrow!
