I'm having troube getting the time set right on my profile. What is GMT? I am in Alabama on Central time--how does that relate to GMT?

I got it--when I posted my question it of course showed the time. FYI--Central time is GMT minus 5 hours.

"Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), mean solar time at the meridian from which time in other zones is calculated."

The time you see on these posts will always be the same no matter where YOU are in the world -- GMT, (originally at least) the time in Greenwich, England, where they first came up with this whole time zone thing (more or less).

Jamie--you would be on eastern time so that would be GMT minus 4 hours.
