Yeah! I won this go round!!

Post by Laff » Fri Apr 25, 2008 5:35 am

My friends and I went out to dinner to the restaurant where my son is the Chef. I had the most wonderful roasted blackened chicken with roasted vegetables which filled me up nicely and tickled my taste buds. While having coffee the waitress brought us the most wonderful looking dessert full of chocolate and raspberries from the house. My son didn't know that I was once again 'dieting' or changing my life. My friends enjoyed the dessert and said it was wonderful. I didn't have so much as a taste! I did tell my son that if I fall off the wagon in a few days I will be really sorry that I missed this!! I won't. Reading back it sounds like I am bragging and I guess I am, sorry but I am just so darn tickled with myself. I did it! :D
Also, I haven't been hungry today until now and it is time to go to bed so I am in luck.
Take care.

Isn't it amazing to look at a dessert and think "That has no power over me"?

Well done!

Don't kill me but I could take or leave the dessert! Just try to take my potato or bread and butter away....it may get ugly! Anyway you did a great job :D

Blithe: Yes, it is liberating when you realize that a certain food no longer has power over you. Once I was in a city which was hosting a TOPS convention, and I saw a woman who was wearing a label button that said, "I've conquered bread."

Thanks everyone. One day I will have to get an "I conquered chocolate button". I wonder if that will ever happen. I am making a dessert Sunday but I don't know that it will have chocolate in it. But one day I will be strong enough. Tonight my husband asked if there was anything for dessert and then he quickly said "oh no, we can't have any it's not an S day!". I am not sure if the WE means he is a convert.
