Too complicated?

I threw away my bathroom scales which felt like such a relief at first. The few days following I ate everything in sight. Now I am ready to get back on No S!
I read everyone elses' stories and am amazed how
well everyone is doing. I can't even get going!
Do you think it would be OK to start off with no snacks and later add no sweets and no seconds. I actually don't eat seconds and most of my sweets are also snacks. Maybe I have been making things too complicated for myself. Maybe no snacking would be enough for me? What do others think of this idea?

You've asked a difficult question & I'm not sure what the answer for you is. On one hand, diving in and going cold turkey with no snacks, no sweet & no seconds sets you up for attaining those vital habits of eliminating the extra eating right away. On the other hand, if getting rid of all three "S"s is too much at once, perhaps eliminating one at a time would work for you. If you decide to take care of one at a time, I would definitely give yourself a timeframe to move on to the next "S" though so that you see yourself making progress. Maybe you could start with no snacks and then add no sweets or no seconds in a few weeks.
I'm curious to read what others' opinion on this.

You can do whatever you want -- there are no "No-S" police. However, you might have fallen victim to thinking it's more complicated than it really is.

I've only been No-S-ing for a little under 2 weeks. Some days are harder for me than others. While I didn't eat a LOT of seconds, I really am surprised to realize how many times I would have added one more scoop of something or one more ____ after eating a plate full of food! But definitely snacks & sweets are my weaknesses. I think if you are going to try to do things in stages that I would set up the timeline like others have said, as to when you'll implement other habits.
I have to admit that food tastes better to me when I'm really hungry and not just mindlessly eating or eating too much chocolate, LOL! So that's been a nice benefit, plus I really look forward to my "S" days. I find, even in this short time, that I'm becoming choosier about what I eat--since I know it's limited, I only want what really tastes GREAT, and not just "food." Even on my S day--maybe moreso then because I realize I'm eating some treats and I want to get the most mileage out of them & not just eat to eat, you know?
One thing you could try as you wean off sweets or snacks is an occasional glass of fruit juice, and more water too.

I think you've been making it more complicated than it is.
Phasing in can work, and some people have done it. I held on to an afternoon snack for a bit (with a limited menu). Eventually, it went away.
Do whatever sets you up for success.
I do recommend the "strictness" podcast (my personal favorite), which may help you get jump-started.

Strictness is #13. (And there are a lot of good ones, that one just really had an impact on me, particularly the "no retribution" idea.)

Why we all start new diets on Monday is beyond me. So I suggest start Nos on Thursday, see if you can do 2 N days, the have 2 S days. Take one baby step at a time. Don't make excuses before you even start. Once you start eating Nos you will be surprised how easy it really is. Focus in I can not I can't.
