confidence in no-s

Post by mthoople » Fri Nov 07, 2008 3:11 am

Hello there everyone...
I've been doing this no-s thing for about three weeks, maybe four. I lost 13 pounds within the first two weeks, gained 3 pounds back, then lost two again. We'll see how I do this week, although Tuesday night I just was ravishing hungry...ended up eating 3 grilled cheese sandwiches (did I really say that!), a bowl of ice cream w/hot fudge, then later went after my favorite snack - pretzels! Maybe those last 3 pounds will be back :(

Oh well, the most important thing is that I know this can work for me, despite setbacks. The way I found out about this was in Women's World. My wife reads it once in awhile, so it gave me a great excuse to buy it for myself when I saw no-s diet on the cover.

What I love about this is, as I understand it, there are only 3 rules (even if there were more I'd just go with the 3). Breakfast and lunch are easy, but dinner is sometimes more difficult. But in my mind I just say to myself whatever I can put on my plate is what I get to eat (I don't go for double or triple decker piles either, just what fits on the plate). For the most part this works. On S days I first when bananas even eating more than I would usually, but then I just couldn't do that... I actually felt sick to my stomach.

Well there's more I could say, but I see I'm working on another War and Peace so I'll stop here. I'll make more comments as time goes on. Anyways, thanks for No-S.
"...meanwhile I'm still thinking."

Well done! You are off to an excellent start. Don't worry about the setbacks. If you eat this way the rest of your life (not hard to contemplate doing) then going off habit won't do any lasting damage.

Don't worry about minor fluctuations in weight. You have clear evidence that this works for you at this point, just focus on behavior and habit and soldier on.
