Do you mean a colonic/hydrotherapy thing, or do you mean the Lemonade diet?

I had a barium enema once.
The only reason I went ahead with it was that I didn't know what the procedure was exactly. :( :)

Those? Don't waste your money.

Have a bowl of oatmeal and drink plenty of water!

Yeah I wouldn't fool with the pills...
This is gross, but you can flush your large intestine by drinking about a quart of room temp water with a few tablespoons of salt in it.
But then you have to stay near a bathroom for a few hours.

Colon cleanses are a waste of time and money. I've seen pictures of colons during colonoscopies and even those that aren't completely cleaned out are pretty clean. I mean -- sorry, this is gross -- nothing sticking to the sides or anything.

Eating plenty of dietary fiber and drinking enough water is all you need to clean your colon.

+1 to what everyone has said.

Deb, years ago I decided to try the saltwater thing. Revolting, painful, nasty. I tried it as an experiment to see if it changed how I fealt. Long story short, it was a lot like having food poisoning sans vomit. Sorry to be gross, but it can't be healthy. I don't know what it is that draws people to "cleansing." I was just curious, and I assume many folks come to it by way of that.

I had a colonic once. I went through a period several years ago and couldn't go.
I went to some holistic place and it was humiliating (for me), painful at first, and I was mortified.
There was a clear tube to see what was coming out.
My best friend convinced me to go and I was traumatized for life.
Ugh.
I will never do it again.
But, if I feel like I have that problem, I eat a big bowl of oatmeal and have pure fruit smoothies. Just banana, frozen strawberries, blueberries, sometimes mango or frozen peaches blended with ice.
I'll also drink water and lemon trough a straw.
Same results as the colon cleanse....
I know, too much information.
Sorry!

Plus, the powdered colon cleanses usually contain senna. Very, very painful cramping. Oatmeal, fruit, water, beans...that is the natural equivalent, in my honest opinion.
