New and a quick question

Hello, all. I've been No S-ing for all of four days, but with green lights all the way. I've got a lot of weight to lose, so I need something I can stick with for the long haul and beyond. No S is common sense, and after years of wonky diets, I'm ready for some o' that!

I did run into something this morning that I wasn't sure how to handle. It's probably another common sense thing, but I'll check anyway. I'm away from home and slept much later than I normally do, throwing my schedule off. In terms of habit formation, does it make more sense for me to skip breakfast altogether (or maybe have a glass of milk) and just have lunch at the normal time, or should I eat early and adjust my dinner time accordingly? I don't plan to stay up much later than normal, so I doubt I'll need a full third meal later at night.

Thanks!

Hi Plaid Dad :)
First thanks for stopping by my Son's thread. I really appreciate that!

I'd say you should stick to three meals a day, regardless of the time frame.
Some days I get up early and only have coffee, but if I totally skip breakfast I pay for it later, by either eating too much for lunch or dinner, or more usually, I get up in the middle of the night and "make up" for it then..

If I know that I have had three meals, even if one of them is a little small, like your glass of milk and say a piece of toast and fruit?? , it's still building a three meal a day habit.

NoS doesn't dictate when you have to eat your meals.
Do whatever works for your lifestyle and see how it goes.. Adjust as you learn more about what works for you.
Everyone is different.
Glad to hear you had a good first week! Hope you have a great weekend.
Enjoy your S days!
Peace and Love,

I eat something very, very light, but sit down at the table and inform myself very firmly that "This is my meal." Then I get back on track for the day.

That mental reminder is so I don't use "but I never had..." as an excuse to overeat later. It's habit-building for me.

YMMV. One of the nice aspects of No-S is that there are multiple solutions to most issues - you get to pick what works best for you!
