Hunger is Calories Leaving the Body

Post by Hunter Gatherer » Sun Mar 15, 2009 5:14 am

This is the phrase I adapted for myself from the T-shirt message "Pain is Weakness Leaving the Body" (Which is patently untrue - pain is the body saying ow-ow-ow you're doing that WRONG and it is DAMAGING ME!!!!)

I like my phrase as it does not make me angry (like the t-shirt), and is pretty close to true.
"You've been reading about arctic explorers," I accused him. "If a man's starving he'll eat anything, but when he's just ordinarily hungry he doesn't want to clutter up his stomach with a lot of candy."
Dashiell Hammett

I love this!
My father in law is an ex-marine and he has a T-shirt with the original saying but I like this one much better.

I don't know if it's true, but I do like the saying :)

Nice! And true (sort of).

But I prefer to forget about those darn calories entirely and focus on how no-s helps me enjoy food more.

So how about:

"Hunger is the prelude to satisfaction."

or (adapting from Socrates):

"Hunger is the best appetizer."

If you don't ever let yourself get hungry, you don't ever really experience the pleasure of eating.

"Be hungry when you eat, tired when you sleep, and horny when you *#@#"

(Hope that's not too blue for the board)
