And... it has been life changing, seriously.

I want to thank you Reinhold.

I started at a weight of 154, today I weigh 147.

My goal weight is 140.

However, that is not really my goal.

My goal was to gain control of my - gaining ten pounds - losing ten pounds, getting too thin, having to eat more, gaining ten pounds - losing ten pounds, etc. etc. ETC....

Now I , crazy as it sounds , eat three meals a day - no snacks, sweets or seconds.

Relax a little on the weekends.

What a concept. (and all green days!)

That's fabulous! For some people, the transition is easy. For others (like me), it's hard. The benefits are incredible, aren't they? I think that the effect is first and foremost the cure for disordered eating and only secondarily a way to lose weight.

quadopt

Yes, Kathleen, it is a way of life that makes so much sense it seems that there must be a "catch" somewhere. Like someday eating normal meals might be proven to be wrong or something.

I actually should not have even said Relax a little on the weekends. I have been relaxed through the entire process. Have had little desire for snacks or sweets (seconds were never really a problem). I threw out a lemon pound cake that I made the first weekend, had no desire for it - hubby ate a slice or two and then the birds got it.

Went to a Mexican restaurant with my daughter in law during a stop in our all day shopping marathon Saturday. Sat and enjoyed the chips and salsa, had a nice meal, didn't even give the food a thought.

Very freeing.

Thanks to you both for your comments.

A huge congratulations, StrawberryRoan! Correcting disordered eating habits and distorted thinking about food, eating, and body issues is extremely difficult for anyone - regardless of if you have 10 pounds to lose or more. As Kathleen pointed out - losing weight slowly is really a secondary benefit of NoS - and a nice added plus. The most phenomenal aspect of NoS is how it can set your mind free of its stinkin' thinkin' - where weight gain and weight problems all begin! And all of this takes time and incredible patience, I've learned, for me. But I keep at it - that's the key, I believe.

Congratulations!!
Good for you!!
I took a whole year of failed attempts at a full twenty one days on habit before I actually was able to do it.
Nice to hear it was so smooth for you :D

You're on track for a life of good habits. Keep it up!
I guess this doesn't work unless you actually do it.

Awesome work, Berry !

I liked that you wrote ReinHOLD instead of ReinHARD in your message too, made me laugh !! ;-)

That was the best part of the message... huh, maybe not ! :-)

Anyway, you have a lot of discipline to achieve this so you should be proud.

Cheers !

Marc ;-)

Oops sorry Reinhard, I somehow must have always thought it was Reinhold.. Maybe lack of sugar has fogged my brain :P Think I need a giant triple pack of Reeses Peanut Butter Cups?

Thanks to you all, this board has been great, I actually look forward to checking the posts and updating my HabitCal every morning (and of course check back throughout the day.)

Again, oops...

Haha don't sweat it. No big deal.
I think anything that starts with a R is okay with Reinhard LOL :)
Many people have gotten his name wrong over the years, you're not the only one, cos it's not very common, except in Germany.

I just love the way you have expressed your "real" goal! Sometimes I get side-tracked and focus exclusively on my progress toward a certain number of pounds, so your post was a great reminder that my real goal is to rid myself of the diet mentality and arrive at a sustainable mature relationship with food via No-S.

Congratulations on your 21 days, and thanks for a helpful post! Winnie

Well, have you joined the 21 Club post? :)

I congratulate you on your habit-forming, and (2nd go round with No-S!) this time I will join you. I just can't say when!!!
