Baby's Here!

Post by mimi » Sat Jun 13, 2009 4:53 pm

Liam Jackson (named for my dad who was William) arrived at 7:30 a.m. this morning and weighed in a 7lbs. 9 oz. He's 19 inches long and cute as a button! Mother, Daddy, and Mimi are all fine and rejoicing in his birth. I just got back from taking *big* sister to meet her new baby *bruver*! I think they'll be just fine! Fun times await!

Wonderful news. . .

Wonderful news. . . I don't know what's gotten into me today. I have tears of joy rolling down my face with your good news and did the same when I read Carolejo's latest report.

And about that time, my 4 year granddaughter just came up and snuggled me--what a blessing these little ones are! No wonder my water works are flowing! And I love the name--I guess I'm a little slow but it had never occurred to me that Liam could be short for William. Nice!

Enjoy your babies, Mimi. . . (I'm MeMa-pronounced mee maw)

Thanks you all! You're the best - a very special bunch of folks! And you're so sweet for worrying Marc! No, I slept all night - they didn't call us until 5:00 a.m. Her contractions were about 3 minutes apart then. I dressed and drove to their house (within speed limits!) and when I got there, Dana was deciding on whether to go to the hospital then or wait a little more because contractions weren't too bad. I told her to *git* before they did get really bad! They got to the hospital around 6:00a.m. and he was born at 7:30 ! I'm glad that she didn't wait any longer! What touches me the most was that they chose to name him after my dad who's been gone 11 years now. Dana was always very special to him - his only granddaughter. This evening when I had time to finally sit and take it all in, I cried.
We'll keep little granddaughter with us over the weekend and when Dana is settled in back home on Monday, we'll take her home. I'll stay with them for as long as they feel they need me. It'll be tough for her with a toddler running around, and a new baby. I know she'll want her momma around for awhile! :)

******* Yeah, I was imagining you were up all night worrying but you were really sleeping like a log and snoring like a freight train ... no wait, that was *ME* this saturday morning at 5am ... :-)

Glad everything went smoothly, sounds like it all happened rather quickly, nice !

I like the idea of naming the new baby after his grandfather, that sounds like a great *tribute*, very touching indeed, wow, that's awesome !! Things like that could get to you in no time, no wonder you were crying... ;-)

Cheers to lil' Liam !

Marc ;-)

Thank you everyone for all your beautiful sentiments and well wishes! Baby Liam came home today around noon and so far has had an excellent day! He's sleeping right now and hopefully will do well during the night. He stayed in the nursery at night while in the hospital, so my daughter has no idea what he's like at night...we'll soon find out. Little Makayla has taken to him fine - as we all have!

Mimi,

How nice that you and your daughter live near each other and that you get to share this special time.

Congratulations.

Congratulations! That's wonderful news.

Sorry for my delayed response -- my own little darlings have been more distracting than usual of late. :-)
