Now I'm sure the number of English language diet books sold in Japan is tiny, but I was stunned to see the No S Diet ranked number 4 in "Weight Loss" and #2 in "Healthy Living" for English language books on the Japanese amazon site (they've since slipped a bit)
http://www.amazon.co.jp/No-Diet-Snacks- ... 470&sr=8-1
I take this as a great compliment from a nation that's held up here in the United States as having an exemplary diet to begin with!
I guess No-S must have a certain obvious appeal compared to Western low carb diets in a traditionally thin country whose stable is white rice?
If there are any Japanese board members here, please enlighten me! I'm very curious.

Congratulations! To have a program that can cross from West to East really says something good about what you've done.

I'd like to see : "No S" written in japanese ...
Maybe that would be a cool TATTOO idea, in black,
on the shoulder, lol !
Here's how you write 'No S' in japanese,
(katakana symbols)
'No S Diet'
'I love Reinhard' For the ladies ...
Cheers !
Marc
Disclaimer : I am following a more extreme version of the 'No-S' diet.
I made my own personal modifications to the original plan (Diet & Exercise)
What I am doing should not be misinterpreted as being a typical 'No-S' diet experience.

I would rather do No-S than the Cookie diet or the Banana Diet. Both, I think, were pretty popular in Japan at one time. I have read that there is a lot of pressure - for girls especially - to be super skinny in Japan. I think diets are more popular there than we would think. Clothing sizes are pretty small there too. I would have to get all of my clothes imported if I lived there. I don't think I could squeeze into an extra, extra large in the Asian sizes, assuming they have that size. (I'm a size 12, give or take.)

oF course, this is all hearsay, I may be totally wrong.
