I usually can see it in my face and chin when I've lost weight and then the tummy area. Curious where do you all notice you've lost weight?

If I'm keeping an eye out for it, I notice my back gets trim early on, but it doesn't get a lot of my attention, so it's easy to miss.

Ugh- in my face and neck first, then in the abdomen. The face and neck thing is annoying- it seems like I have been sick or something rather than healthy wt loss. Also has the effect of making me look older, which I hate!!! Anyone else have this problem?

Our fat distribution appears to be caused by our Genetics.
Just like height, eye color etc.
The way fat comes on, and the way fat comes off is individual.
You can firm up through resistence training, etc.
but....despite all those claims to the contrary..... there is really no way
to "spot reduce", or change individual fat distribution.

Exactly my dilemmna. I really have no trouble losing weight if I eat right and exercise (what a concept :D ) but I always lose weight in my face and neck first, thus making me look older.

I lost too much weight (and probably too quickly) on NO S last year and looked easily ten years older. I went from about 160 to 132 in a few months. I am 61, by the way.

I started back a couple weeks ago at 158, weigh 151 today. Feel great, back in charge. I hope to be able to stabilize at 145 which is where I probably look best - I am five foot five with some muscle weight as I have exercised my entire life.

They say, for a women, her butt wants to be ten pounds thinner than her face.

For me, it's my chest - just where I can't afford to lose it from!

It's not that people "lose weight" in their face first. They just notice it there because of the ratio involved. If you lose 1/4" off your face, it shows up a lot more than 1/4" off your abdomen. That 1/4" is a much bigger ratio of the volume of your face.

I have a friend who had very nice, round buttocks when she was heavy. I assumed when she lost weight that the shape would stay the same, but just reduce in size. No such luck for her, poor thing. She exercises hard and has lost over 70 pounds, but her bottom is flat and wide. She would have to lose a ridiculous amount of fat from other areas of her body to reduce it significantly more. But she has great legs!

Yes Oolala - you are right. When I lose weight I lose it all over, but it shows more in the smaller areas - ie my chest :(
