Here's Habit for You

Post by NoelFigart » Tue Jan 18, 2011 9:50 pm

My son and a friend of his have faithfully been shoveling the driveway at intervals during the snowstorm today. I've been rewarding them with hot chocolate, 'cause, well... I don't have to shovel if they do!

The third time I sent them out (we have a horrible driveway that is a terrifying monster when it comes to snow being piled at the foot of it with the city plow), I decided they deserved cookies. There are no cookies in the house, but I have butter, sugar, eggs, flour, salt, baking powder, milk and cinnamon, so snickerdoodles are easy enough to make. (Just a sugar cookie with a cinnamon and sugar topping. I'd never heard of them till I married a New Englander).

So, here's the weird part. I didn't have one, and didn't "taste" as I cooked. Normally I do, but hey, it's TUESDAY. Pre-disapproved. No excuses.

Am I hungry? Yes. It's close to dinner time. And ya know what? I bet the pork loin, apple, onion and red wine dish I'm going to make is gonna be delicious, too.

My blog https://noelfigart.com/wordpress/ I talk about being a freelance writer, working out and cooking mostly. The language is not always drawing room fashion. Just sayin'.

I like that, I pay the neighbor kid cash to snow blow my driveway. My wife makes Snickerdoodles all the time. (Some people pay big money for he canine version of these...) They are at times irresistable.
