A helpful little habit

Post by Kevin » Fri Jan 21, 2011 11:29 pm

One of the small things that makes NoS easier for me is that I say "no, thank you" to myself. I say it when I get the urge to snack, or I see others eating, or I walk by cookies someone brought to work.

It works surprisingly well. Try it next time you have the urge to break habit. It's a nice, gentle, habitual way to re-enforce the the larger habit. See if it doesn't make you smile a little.

I like this a lot. When I first started No S and I was walking past food at work I would say to myself 'I don't eat those during the week'. It was very helpful at reinforcing the right mindset. I like 'No thank you' better though - very polite. Thank you for this

I like this. It's important we are polite to ourselves in our self talk. How often have we said things like "You stupid jerk!" Or, "You are such a pig!"
