Nothing revolutionary, but I reduced it to a single, centered column so the text is legible on mobile devices (some obnoxious ads, alas, had to go -- I'm afraid you'll just have to click on the more discreet remaining ones more often).

It looks good on my ipod touch, but there's a fair amount of content on the page and it might be very slow over a cellular connection. If any of you with a proper smartphone could take a look and let me know if it's unbearably slow/acceptable, I can diddle some and put the page on a lower byte diet.
Actually, I think I can simulate slow connections with an emulator... I'll look into that.
If you think of anything else I can do (besides mobilizing the habitcal, which has been on my todo list for a while) that would make the no-s or everyday systems family of sites, please let me know. The bulletin board actually looks pretty good as is, I find (thanks to the vertically oriented layout which squishes nicely -- this seems to be the key to making mobile friendly sites without massive and complex special-case code).

I just tried it out. I use a 3G connection and it loaded in less than two seconds. (It's text-based. Of course it will load fast!)
I used an LG Ally (android phone) over a Verizon network in a very rural area with spotty coverage. I'd say you're probably golden with this design.
The bulletin board also does fine on my phone but I'm unlikely to use it as much on a device without a proper-sized keyboard as I like to shoot off at the mouth (keyboard) too much on a discussion group to primarily read it.
FWIW, your MP3s stream great onto my phone as well.
You're quite right that a vertical layout is key to good mobile-friendly stuff. If you'll forgive a link to a post about it, I wrote this back last summer: Optimize for Mobile Devices: A Heartfelt Plea. Your site gets good marks for this.
