Welcome, erialicia!
There are a number of us in the No S discussion group who have lost a lot of weight. You will probably have seen accounts here:
http://nosdiet.com/testimonials.html
Some very successful losers are Starla:
http://everydaysystems.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=6745
and James Grimes:
http://everydaysystems.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=5537
My testimonial (yearly check in) is here:
http://everydaysystems.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=4734
and there are more in the "yearly check in" discussion board:
http://everydaysystems.com/bb/viewforum ... =0&start=0
Not everyone experiences fast weight loss, and patience may be required, but No S is a very sane way to eat.
Best wishes for your No S journey.

Definitely check out the testimonials TooSolidFlesh linked.
But as someone who started with a lot to lose, I wanted to personally offer you some encouragement. I started with 75+ lbs to lose. I'm not there yet, but since the end of June 2010, I've lost 60 lbs. My rate of weight loss has slowed in the last few months, but the numbers are still creeping down.
In some ways, it's harder to start NoS if you have a lot to lose, because the slow steady weight loss can seem like its too slow to make an actual difference. But I just kept reminding myself that I had't put all my weight on in a month, so expecting to get it off that fast was silly and impractical.
But in other ways, I think I found it easier to have a lot to lose than people with only 5 or 10 pounds. Because even though it took a long time before I looked thinner (at least 4-6 months), it didn't take very long at all before I started to feel better and feel more in control and feel like I was on a life long path.
And although the weight loss wasn't flashy, because I had so much to lose, it was fairly steady and more dramatic than people with only a few pounds to lose (until recently, I was losing ~1.5 pounds/week so body weight percentage, but enough that you could see it on the scale). So now that I'm in a place where the loss is really slow, almost unnoticeable (<0.5lbs per week, and over the course of any given week, it's not unusual to actually show a gain) I'm totally relaxed and okay with it - because I know that this way of eating is sane. And that it works. And that even if I don't drop the rest of the wait in a month or 2, I probably will in the next year or 2.
So welcome to NoS. I hope that it can bring you the same sense of sanity and relief it has brought to me.

Yes, Sienna! WOW! That's absolutely fabulous! You're doing great!
And to chime in to the OP, unfortunately I didn't know about No S when I lost the bulk of my excess weight -- I'm down 70lbs from my highest weight -- but I wish that I had. It would have saved me so much mental agony and money, among other things. Anyway, I have no doubt that No S can work for those of us who are either obese or formerly obese.

Awww, thanks everyone! I promise a real testimonial in that part of the forum when I officially hit the one year (hopefully I haven't spoiled the suspense too much!) But I wanted to make sure erialicia could get easy access to one in this thread.
Testimonial Spoiler Alert: It's been a great journey so far and I've learned a lot from everyone here!
