Note to self, Stay out of the stupid diet sites!!

Post by M's sick of dieting » Wed Sep 14, 2011 4:36 pm

How do I find myself in there?? I'll be looking for a recipe or something and the next thing I know I'm in another diet web site questioning myself if I should start another diet.

Its like a constant battle in my head and I always come to the same answer. "I just don't think I can do it anymore, or want to do it for that matter."

The money I've spent on diet food, the counting, the measuring, the being hungry. That constant food obsession that consumes my life, its so sad. The look I get from my Husband and son's when I try to feed them another diet recipe (its between a look of fear and an eye roll).

Have any of you found yourself addicted to diet sites :?:

Sure have...actually was on spark people for 3 years, then others recommended diet books that I bought..so I have tried the mind games, tummy hunger games..all of it..

But like you I JUST can't bring myself to diet again..I just can't and it sounds like you are at the point as well.

No more diets for me...this is as close as I can get to restrictions..

Image Just a note ....
Here is a "diet" website that offers support
without recommending any specific diet,
although it is strongly pro-No S.

I've stayed on sparkpeople mostly on the Living Binge Free team there. Everyone does her own thing and most members there are anti-diet. I still get a lot out of participating there.

I do actually read diet books still, but they have to be ones that don't advocate for 5 or more meals and they have to advocate for reasonable hunger. I find the same info delivered in a different way can give me a boost. Or they have to be books on dealing specifically with the emotional elements of eating or with strategies to support developing target eating habits, such as being more aware and respectful of true hunger and not overeating at meals. I just substitute 3 meals a day for whatever they recommend. It's the thinking behavior I still want help with.

If I find myself toying with the idea of actually trying to track calories or limit them, I get a smirk on my face. Not going to happen.
