Returning to the fold...

Hi, folks,
I was active here for a bit a few years ago, when life hit us hard and we spent a couple of years figuring out where we would finally land. My husband had lost his job, and did a year and a half of 'filler' work until he was able to find something in his field. We are now living in the part of the country where we always have vacationed, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, which is just heaven for us, so that part of our story had a happy ending.
However, we had another hit in 2009 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and I have been in one form of treatment or another since then. It has metastasized to my bones, which means that treatment is going to be with me for the rest of my life, but I am very thankful that at least there are treatments out there to keep me going.
During this time, I regained the weight I had lost here and then some. Until this last week, my oncologist did not want me to work at losing weight at all; she has wanted me to focus on my health more than weight loss. But I am now on a break from chemo, and have been given her blessing to intentionally lose weight again, and I thought there would be nothing better than getting back on track with No S. So here I am!
I've sent the link to the main web page to my husband, to see if he wants to join me on this. He has a lot less weight to lose, but has been concerned about the stress-related eating he has been doing the last couple of years. So I thought it would be great if we could do this together.
Anyway, I am very glad to be back and glad to see things still active here, and looking forward to reading some of your stories.
Peace,
Valerie
