This No S community

Post by ~hf » Sat Nov 12, 2011 4:42 pm

I just wanted to say how much I love this message board and the members of this No S community. Everyone here is always so encouraging, nonjudgmental, and just all around nice. What breath of fresh air. I hadn't participated in online groups much before, other than my previous No S experience, but while I was in between No S attempts I joined a few groups geared towards _____ diet and, well let's just say we have something special here.

Have a great weekend!

Yes, everyone here is terrific. Well, except that one person. You know who you are.

Kidding, kidding! It really is a remarkably nice group, here.

The No S community is the most supportive and motivating group of folks on the world wide web! :D

I agree! I keep leaving (because I haven't been successful at No S -- then I try other diets -- not successful either), but somehow I keep coming back. I haven't been here in a while and today I just felt like coming back to see what people were writing about. It's like "coming home", the support and encouragement is always there no matter what.

Yes, and thank you all for making it this way!

I'm astonished that on the internet, without any policing to speak of, we've had maybe a handful of unpleasant exchanges over the last ~10 years (first post to the yahoo group predecessor was Jun 11, 2002, first post to the current bulletin board was April 12, 2005).

Given that 110120 messages have now been posted here by 6298 members, that's almost a suspiciously good "civility rate!"

But the easy to quantify part, the lack of negativity, remarkable as it is, is perhaps less important than the harder to quantify, positive helpfulness that exudes from so many of you here. I may not be able to back it up with stats, but I sure do appreciate it!

The contributors to the bulletin board do make it something special to be treasured. Reinhard, your respectfulness and courtesy set the tone.
Be kind, for everybody you meet is fighting a hard battle.
