More reasons to keep moving

It's too easy to let the winter blahs keep me at my desk all day on my bee-hind. This is just the ticket to get me up and moving more regularly.

I saw that and was going to link to it, too.
In terms of diabetes, about 10-15 years ago I read the results of a study that said that exercise was equally if not more important than diet in prevention and treatment of the disease.
I also read

And this is the simple secret that is allowing people with diabetes to walk away from heart attacks, dialysis, and daily insulin injections.

I enjoyed reading the Times article. I don't have diabetes, but I don't want it either. I am overweight, mostly active but not active enough. I've recently started exercising along with the NO S diet. Our dog developed diabetes and she wasn't overweight. It was terrible to see what that disease did to a dog. Let alone a human. I'm not interested in that if I can prevent it.
I've never thought of "cells being hungry." I guess this means we want them hungry so they'll use up the sugar in the blood. Great concept and one I'll remember.

So true! Diabetes is rampant in my family, so one of the reasons I exercise is I do NOT want it.
