Post by ~reneew » Mon Mar 19, 2012 4:03 pm

21 day challenge

I challenge you to do 21 successful (green or yellow, no red according to habitcal) days in a row. If you succeed, you get to declare your success to the world on the "21 day club" thread and on here!

This is for anybody who needs encouragement and daily accountability. We will all keep tabs on each other. Think of this as your own little cheering section.
* Only post your progress once at the top and edit that first post until you get to 21. It's easier to skim-read and find each other.
- Please re-read that last one, some people don't get it.
- This challenge is meant for all of us to give support, so let's try hard to do that.
- Anyone can start whenever. The more ~ the merrier!
- Good luck and have fun with it!

I'm in, and I get to cheat because I started early.
March
13 not even tempted. I feel strong.
14 tempted but strong!
15
16 very tough, but tomorrow is S!
17 b-day and WAY over the top. I feel sick.
18 not quite as drastic. Had an eye opener today. (see daily)
19 Mondays are as tough as Fridays, and I did it!!! I did it! Yea me!
20 whew close one! twice I had a snitch up to my lips.
21
22 very tempted! I kept repeating that it wasn't even an option. I really want to at least do one whole perfect week. Fridays are the worst! But I have a plan!
23 so far and I feel like going to bed at 7:45 just to avoid food. ug. I'm full right now but want to munch, just because I have time to watch a movie. Maybe I'll crochet!
24 not too bad!
25 fairly good! I'm treating them like regular N days with a bit of forgiveness, and it seemed to work.
26 The weekend went really well!!! I feel so pumped that I thought about fasting today. I always want to run ahead and be the hare... Patience  It seems to be getting easier! Really!27 yea!
28 I've set the cruise control...
29
30

31
1
2 day 21!!!

I did it!!! Yea me!!! I can't believe it! What is the most amazing is the way that the habit feels. I rarely even feel tempted on N days! Honest! I forgot that it can happen!

Thanks everyone for your great support. I honestly couldn't have done past day 2 without this!!

Perhaps I should start over again since I have an extra yellow day mixed in with my N Days on this 21 day stint. Debating on that. I feel like I should have all green with just my normal S days to be in the 21 club. What do ya think? I do fee like a birthday for my immediate family constitutes an S day though.

 OK...I DID IT! THAT'S 21 DAYS!!!!!! See ya on the April Challenge thread!

Don't know if we're starting another thread for April, but thought I'd just start over here. Got pretty side-tracked in March. Gonna try to make April a nice clean, green month.

Modified No S - 3 meals w/at least 1/2 plate veggies/fruit, 1 small healthy snack, and 1 sweet per day (no more than 1/2 cup low-fat ice cream). No S Days (weekends), except for major holidays and my birthday.

I'm seeing lots of greens! Thanks guys, you're really motivating me! If you flub, try again. That wasn't saying it is okay to flub... well, you know what I mean!
The strictness seems to really be the key. This works when I actually do it. Hmmm... go figure.

~hf - how are you doing?

ZippaDee - such control! Only one week left!

Nichole - lots of plus signs! When are you due?

CMThib82 - hard to write that name. Update us! We care!

MerryKat - how are you doing?

gk - Saturdays and Sundays are S days and yellow and fine! You're doing great!

Oolala53 - update us!

NoSnacker - nice control!

KL - great start!
I guess this doesn't work unless you actually do it.

Oh I'm fighting! This time around I was at an all-time high, my 16 year old son looked at my dish of cake with double frosting and told me I was killing myself with such sincerity I choked, and I know that this whole last year was a waste of time because I never got seriously strict. This diet works if you do it!

They have mounds of food upon thars. (thinking of the star-bellied sneeches.)

Anyway... Nichole! Nichole, Nichole! I've been there 4 times sweetheart! I know you have too. Take care of yourself! Nap! I fell asleep driving when 9 months pregnant with our first. I rolled to a gentle stop at the "dead end" (cemetary) at the end of our street. God sure was with me then, and sent me a message. (Falling asleep and off the couch the week before didn't do it.) Pamper yourself! How long do they expect that you have??? Notice I didn't say "when are you due?" Because when the day comes, if baby isn't ready yet...

LOL! Oh, I'm due August 13 with our baby boy, Benjamin Matthew. 20 weeks to go! I go to bed so early -- 8 pm all this week! Forget cross stitching or watching TV LOL! Getting home, playing with Rachel, bathing her, then making dinner seems to take all my energy. :/ I take my walks while at work.

That really is scary about falling asleep while driving!

Didn't realize this thread was here because I don't often check the General discussion boards. Thanks for starting it Renew! Thanks No Snacker for telling me about it! Looks like we have a good group!

I started a 21 day challenge on Tuesday March 13 and got to day 14 with only greens and yellows, then the next day was Tuesday of this week, I failed. So I started over and I'm on day 4 today. ( means success any yellow smiley for S days or Special days.)

Zippa dee, Of course you can have an extra yellow day on a 21 day challenge! You are there tomorrow! I read Reinhard's example and I'm sure he had an NWS day.

Congratulations!!!

Sweetness so glad you could join!

reenew - will you be starting another thread? I know it seems we are all on different days, I still have a few left before my 21 days is over and I start another.

This is great..like to see how everyone is doing.

Maybe for the next one..we might want to include perhaps stopping by each other's post and giving a "Atta Girl" or "Hang in there", etc. etc. If people want to of course.

What do you think?

I'm going to start a monthly challenge again... then we can choose to either do 21 or whatever you wish. When you complete this 21, join me there, or do both, or whatever you want. If you really want to do the 21 and keep trying, I'll still be here for ya! I hope we all make it!!!

I'm going to work on being really strict about one plate, or at least "virtual plating" this week. I have always had a tendency to eat too much at each meal, and to put too much on my plate. Once it's on the plate, its hard for me not to eat it all. Mom made us clean our plates. Growing up, there were rarely any leftovers at suppertime. If you didn't get it on your plate the first time the dish was passed, chances are it would be gone. My brother was a competitive swimmer, they eat and burn lots of calories. So I tended to serve myself a very healthy portion, which resulted in my eating more than I needed.

I plan to use the smaller 8 1/2 inch plates unless the meal includes at least half fruits and veggies, then the 10 inch will do.

Have a great week everyone, and go for the GREEN!
