Confession time!

Post by Laff » Tue Apr 25, 2006 5:07 pm

Hi folks! I have not been doing well with the NoS for past month!! No, wrong---I have been doing awful. I had cataract surgery the end of March and for some reason I felt that I needed a month of S days. How ridiculous does that sound!!! Now I have more pounds to lose and another surgery on the horizon!! However, I have decided that today will be a better day---no chocolate and better meals (maybe even a salad)!! I have been off work since my surgery and won't be back until early June. Food is so doggone accessible. However---I do have a brain, just have to use it.
Time to start over. It is such a puzzle as to why I stopped. It really is not hard?!
There is some good news. I have become an Urban Ranger of sorts. My walks are short and fair weather only but I have been out walking several times in the past week. :D
Have a great week everyone. :)

we are all here in the same boat with you. Laff

don't give up

... in addition to No-S, I also attend Overeaters Anonymous--

they are a wonderful complement to each other

I am sorry for your stress and your surgery

and I hope that you feel better

I know what it feels like to use food to " fix" emotions

my heart goes out to you

I'm betting it wasn't the surgery so much as the time off from work?

Those are truly hard times. But you can reverse the trend. That was yesterday.

This is today. Get to it!

And congrats on the UR. Sometimes, that's what you really need to get started is some exercise. Something positive. One thing leads to another, you know? Nothing breeds success like success...

Thank you both for your encouraging words. I have had a couple of not so bad days---still not there but the snacks were fewer and I think that is a start.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. Enjoy your special treats!! :)

Hi Laff,

Sorry I missed this discussion till now -- but I'm happy you got some good advice from Donna and Kevin, and that you're doing "not so bad." Stick with the urban ranger. It's the least flashy system, but it's the easiest and most important.

Best,

Reinhard
