* * * July Challenge * * *

Post by ~reneew » Mon Jul 01, 2013 9:03 pm

I challenge you to have a PERFECT Month of July!
Yep, I said prefect! (Defined as however you think is perfect for you)
This is for anybody who needs encouragement and daily accountability. Think of this as your own little cheering section.

- post your progress once at the top and edit that first post all month. It's easier to skim-read and find each other. Accountability helps!

- please re-read that last one, some people don't get it.
- after a couple days we can post encouragements and support at the bottom.
- anyone can start whenever through out the month. The more ~ the merrier!
- good luck and have fun with it!
I guess this doesn't work unless you actually do it.
Please pray for me

I'm in! Did I really say "perfect"? haha. I need tough right now, so I guess I will see how many people are serious about this! I got all wishy washy near the end of June and actually tried a day of counting calories. I was insanely calculating what I wanted to eat from the moment I woke up! I usually don't even eat breakfast because I am not hungry and don't want it, yet the calorie counting day had me dreaming of food. The moral of my story is... you can't discount this diet as "not working" unless you were actually doing it!!! So here I go  Perfect. Period.

1  awesome day!
2  double good day!
3
4  took an s day. Now I focus on quick recovery as my goal is habit.
5  tempted left and right, but successful!
6
7
8
9  great day! Hubbie is gone all week for work so I'm not tempted by his evening snacks.
10
11
12  Doing good!
13
14  camping for the week. This could be bad... or good. They do have WiFi. Doesn't seem right while camping.
15
16
17
18  wow. I can't believe I was a good girl while on vacation.
19  SDay for sons birthday. Blew it bad at pizza buffet and DQ ice cream cake. I didn't even like the cake. Stupid.
20  Bad
21  Bad again
22  and what's pitiful is that I kept snacking on animal crackers of all things... and I don't really like them.
23  recovery mode
24
25
26  ug

I'm in! I washed out on the June challenge, but I have a high school reunion coming up in September, so I need some tough love right now. Here's my plan, 4 meals a day (because of reflux) with the option of one dessert, with either my planned snack, or my lunch. I will allow myself a little extra leeway on July 4, and around my parents' birthdays (July 16 and 18), but that's it.

1. Success!
2. Success!
3. Fail, but not a huge one. I mostly stuck to my No S parameters (4 meals, no seconds or extra snacking), but I had more than one dessert.
4. S day I don't allow myself too many S days with my particular modifications, but I will allow national holidays, and my birthday.
5. Success!
6. Fail, but minor. I had one extra dessert, but the rest of my eating was very moderate. From now on, any minor fails will be orange.
7. Another Fail. Again, more than one sweet, but my eating was otherwise moderate.
8. Fail!

Can I join in a day late? I'm currently couch ridden with a foot sprain. I failed all last week out of sheer boredom though I never intended to, I just can't keep busy like I usually do to distract myself. So let's give this ago :)

Goal: No-S, with the following mods:
1) Allow one or two fruit snacks on No-S days
2) All food to be eaten seated and off a plate, and if possible in company, even on S-Days

I shall be on holiday from the 6th to the 27th. S-Days then may come thick and fast!

Keep going everyone! If you hit a fail, push your restart button and have a perfect week this week. "Whatever works" applies here haha. I for one will be glad for Monday. I saved too many sweets for the weekend that I felt sick all day yesterday. Ug.
I guess this doesn't work unless you actually do it.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again ... one day at a time. I'm like a boomarang, I keep coming back.

Starting tomorrow because I already had a huge cookie and I'd like to start with a green day (hopefully ...).

AFTERNOON; EVENING; WALK

Thu 11: Success; Fail; Fail
The afternoon was really tough -- I kept thinking about going down to the cafeteria and buying something. Somehow I managed to get through it. Had a good supper. An then had a big bowl of high calorie cereal around 9:00

No problem Jan! I've been doing it for so long that people must think I'm crazy. I should be there by now. If I added up the weight I've lost and ignored the gains when I quit, I'd long ago be at goal, so I won't give up this time. Hopefully.

Oooo yes, reneew thanks so much for this thread :) I love checking in each day and often think about the "red failure" when I'm tempted to snack! Most days it's a good deterrent.

5.2 lbs lost so far this month, bringing my total to 70 lbs lost. Very happy as have had some snacking failures. Intermittent fasting going really well though. Going on holiday for most of the rest of July so I expect a bit of weight creeping back on. I don't care: easy on, easy off.

I'm back

Post by Lady Crimson » Sat Jul 20, 2013 2:00 am

Once again I left no S Diet in hopes of losing weight quickly but ended up regaining . So I decided I am really to give up on false promises and be happy losing weight slowly. So I came back to No S because it has always worked for me--its just slow. But if I had stayed on No S when I first discovered it I would be at my ideal weight by now.

So anyway I actually restarted July 1st but haven't posted until tonight brcausetonight is the toughest night do far. I figure its because its the last N day of my 21 days. Day 30 and 21 are S Days so after tonight I can't fail.

So anyway, since I saw this challange and am already 3/4 of the way--why not?

Hey, its time for bed do writing this much distracted me long enough to get me through the temptation to snack. I'll post my success chart tomorrow. Morning from the computer -- trouble with typing on this tablet.

Well, I goofed. That's not stopping me though because habit is what I want and I feel a stronger habit than I had in June, so I am going to continue on and make a quick recovery back on track. Who's with me???
