I need to think about this. My mom is coming to visit and I find it so hard not to snack when she's around.

I think it actually bothers her if I don't snack. Sigh.

I will join as well. I will weigh in tomorrow and will seek some sort of weight loss this month by making better food choices. I am already pretty compliant with Vanilla No S and with exercise, but I continue to fill my plates with foods that are high calorie and are not always healthy.

8/5: I am going to enter weekly updates on Mondays because I do not visit the site daily. Update 1: I am not entering a weight yet because it has not been a full week. Also, food consumption was a disaster with a family reunion this weekend. Two days of disordered eating and one of those days with a fair amount of liquid calories. The rest of the week was okay but nothing spectacular. I am trying to combine food choices with portion control. (Larger portions of healthy stuff that I do like and smaller portions of the not so health stuff that I like too.) Like Jelly Beans I will never be a total chicken and salad eater, but there are healthly foods I like and need to make a point to eat more. I did fine with exercise overall but still failed to add a routine of Shovel Glove. I did it once this week.

r.jean, just an idea, maybe keep your foods just use smaller plates. I personally will never be a salad, chicken breast girl. I like higher fat foods , but if I keep in on a smaller plate I still lose weight on this diet.

Vacations can be hard, but if you at least stick to 3 meals it helps. You are really doing well.

I'm a few days late, but I'm in. I didn't have the best month last month, but doing the challenge really helped with seeing how many successes and failures I had, so the goal for this month is to do better. My goals, for this month, are to eat 4 smaller meals, with no nighttime snacking, and to get in 20 workouts for the month. Since I'm not doing vanilla no s, I won't have actual s days, but I will allow s events, where I'm a little looser with what I eat, but I stay within the 4 meal structure.
Starting weight, as of Aug. 5: 159.4

5.Success! 3/20 workouts
6.Success! 4/20 workouts
7. Success! 5/20 workouts
8.S Event (band concert)
9.Success!
10. Fail (Minor fail). 6/20 workouts
11. Fail
12. Fail
13. Fail (a better eating day than the past couple of days, but I can't call it a success). 7/20 workouts
14. Fail  I'm having a crummy week so far, and I've engaged in emotional eating. I know I need to stop doing it.
15. Success! :D 8/20 workouts
16. Success! 9/20 workouts
17. Fail
18. Success!
19. Success! 10/20 workouts
20. Fail
21. Success!
22. Success!
23. Success! 11/20 workouts
24-27 Was busy with family for the past few days. My eating was mostly on track.
28. Success! 14/20 workouts
29. Fail

I had one fail on exercise last week. I did decide to rebound 2x as long one day, but I'm willing to admit now that that doesn't make up for it as a habit-forming tactic.

I was able to dance a lot last night and tough out some bike riding today that I don't think I'd be able to have participated in as much if I hadn't jumped back into some regular exercise, short time though it has been. I look forward to more peppiness.

Well, I'm not going to meet my goal for 20 workouts for this month, but that's okay. I've been dealing with an elbow injury for the past few weeks (some sort of sprain or strain), and my allergies have been really bothering me. I think the fact that I've done 11 workouts at this point in the month is pretty good! :D

I've exercised more consistently on my own this month than in years, even if it hasn't been perfect. So glad for that. We've had a cooler summer, which may have contributed. I hope I don't lose momentum when the heat comes, as I often have.
