almost 60 pounds down! update

Post by joasia » Fri Nov 15, 2013 2:03 pm

Ok I posted this as a reply, but have decided to repost as a new topic. I am posting to motivate myself to keep going. I've been stuck at the same weight for a while and want to keep moving down

So here is my Nov 15, 2013 update:

Start weight 268.5 pounds
Current weight 209.6 pounds

That is almost 60 pounds!

Yes, I can do this!

Wonderful news! Hope you post on the testimonial board as well because 6(!) years of NoS is a worthy accomplishment!

You might reconsider posting on the testimonial page because:

A. No one follows NoS 100% with no slip-ups and many people would find it inspiring to know that the good habits NoS instills has good effect even when not perfect. Perfection is not required! :)

B. Very few of us load pictures but if you wanted to do so, I'm sure there are some tech-savvy posters who would be glad to coach you through the process...

I agree about making the testimonial anyway. You've still beat the odds incredibly and people need to know that partial success is success, too. Very few obesity specialists tell their patients they have to achieve a normal BMI because they see such improvement from modest changes. You are already a success. That doesn't need to stop you. (Maybe I'm justifying my own testimonials. I posted even though I had wild S days for over two years, and I think I didn't get to my normal BMI for even longer than that. I even put a lot of weight back on during a stressful autumn. But the habits were the background of my life, and I kept going. You've actually lost a greater percentage of your weight than I have, too. If you can't post, where does that leave me? )
Count plates, not calories. 11 years "during"
Age 69
BMI Jan/10-30.8
1/12-26.8 3/13-24.9 +/- 8-lb. 3 yrs
9/17 22.8 (flux) 3/18 22.2
2 yrs flux 6/20 22
1/21-23

There is no S better than Vanilla No S (mods now as a senior citizen)

joasia, testimonials-page or not, congratulations on this tremendous achievement!

(For what it's worth, I think it's totally testimonials-page worthy, and I'd be more than happy to help you post pictures if you want -- though as others have mentioned, pictures are not at all necessary if you'd rather not.)

Thank you for letting us know!

Wow. Keep it up. You've inspired me, and many others who won't even comment I'm sure!
I guess this doesn't work unless you actually do it.
Please pray for me

If only people with perfect compliance could post testimonials, there wouldn't be many testimonials, and most of the ones there were would be lies.
