Mix it up?

Take a sledgehammer and wrap an old sweater around it. This is your "shovelglove." Every week day morning, set a timer for 14 minutes. Use the shovelglove to perform shoveling, butter churning, and wood chopping motions until the timer goes off. Stop. Rest on weekends and holidays. Baffled? Intrigued? Charmed? Discuss here.

Mix it up?

Does anyone do the SG workout along with weight lifting, I've lifted for yrs and was woudering if this workout would compliment a workout geared toward adding mass.

I don't do it in association with lifting, but I imagine that with a lighter hammer (say a 10 pounder) it would be an good off day exercise.

Hi Big T,
I do dumbell clean and push press, dumbell clean and press and dumbell thrusters in-between shovelglove exercises. It works pretty well, but really gets me breathing. Personally I think shovelling and chopping wood with shovelglove would be an excellent replacement for sit-ups and leg raises in a standard weight-lifting routine.

Enjoy,

Phil.
