First Day of Week 5

Take a sledgehammer and wrap an old sweater around it. This is your "shovelglove." Every week day morning, set a timer for 14 minutes. Use the shovelglove to perform shoveling, butter churning, and wood chopping motions until the timer goes off. Stop. Rest on weekends and holidays. Baffled? Intrigued? Charmed? Discuss here.

First Day of Week 5

Post by tonez323 » Mon Jun 25, 2007 7:19 pm

My lower back is torched along with my biceps and forearms. Can tell you one thing,it's doing wonders for my posture, not that I had bad posture to begin with. Can see alot of increased definition in upper body and calves..i was only doing 10 minutes shovelglove and doing 5 minutes jump rope until now.

I'm still at the 10lb sledge.
Here's what I did today:

10 reps 2arm swing w/packweight(40-45lbs)
Shovel-50 reps each side
churn butter 20 reps each side
wood chop-20 each side
10 reps 2arm swing w/packweight (40-45lbs)
drive post-20 each side
stoke oven-20 each
ceiling smash-20 each
fireman-50each

finished it in 12:45 first time I did it nonstop and was too spent to do anything but stretch after that

Looks good! 50 reps of fireman at the end of the session sounds like a killer!

Yea...I didn't realize it until after I was finished...I was so caught up in the moment and focused on pushing myself.

Definately have sore lower back today,a good sore though, gonna take some motrin and might skip the firemen for today.probably do some flip the lever and scratch backs instead and take it easy.
