Take a sledgehammer and wrap an old sweater around it. This is your "shovelglove." Every week day morning, set a timer for 14 minutes. Use the shovelglove to perform shoveling, butter churning, and wood chopping motions until the timer goes off. Stop. Rest on weekends and holidays. Baffled? Intrigued? Charmed? Discuss here.

Hoist the sack is my nemisis; for some reason it just makes my elbows sore. So Ive invented a similar, but more joint-friendly move: paint the wall. I'll try to make a video some time, but in essence it's hoist the sack, only you make the move up and down at about 1.5 o'clock. For those into visualization, pretend you're painting the top part of a wall where it meets the ceiling....

Nice! Very karate kid.
Hoist the sack is tough. Good to have a more approachable version.
I think I get it.... would love to see video of, of course.
