Even Sherlock Holmes learns he should have shugged

Take a sledgehammer and wrap an old sweater around it. This is your "shovelglove." Every week day morning, set a timer for 14 minutes. Use the shovelglove to perform shoveling, butter churning, and wood chopping motions until the timer goes off. Stop. Rest on weekends and holidays. Baffled? Intrigued? Charmed? Discuss here.

I think they (Guy Ritchie) was looking for a "realistic" Holmes, who is portrayed as an eccentric cokehead (not that there's anything wrong with that), so Mr Downey-J didn't need to extend his acting range considerably to play the part.

I recall as Tony Stark he may have used a little sledge work in making his first Ironman outfit while stuck in the cave in Afganistan.
