Take a sledgehammer and wrap an old sweater around it. This is your "shovelglove." Every week day morning, set a timer for 14 minutes. Use the shovelglove to perform shoveling, butter churning, and wood chopping motions until the timer goes off. Stop. Rest on weekends and holidays. Baffled? Intrigued? Charmed? Discuss here.

facing forward and feet paralle, look back over your shoulder at a 45 degree angle (twisting upper body), extend arm back, and step forward onto the opposite foot then smoothly bring the hammer forward and across the body in a throwing motion.

ps- finally pain free and added benefit, for the first time since high school I can chuck a football 60 yards when before it hurt to reach up and change an overhead light bulb.
