Thanks for posting. I'm a huge fan. Weight on your back magnifies the workout effect and makes use of the time you'd already spend walking. It's a simple habit to get in to and if you have kids or a dog it's even easier to get a workout in. Simple movements like squatting or reaching for something or even walking on uneven ground take on a new meaning with 20 or 30lb in your bag.

But you definitely don't need to spend $400 on a backpack, any solid bag will do as long as you can cinch it down tight. Army surplus stores are a good place to look.

Haven't tried shovelgloving whilst wearing a backpack - might give that a go!
