Monumental, well kind of...

Post by Over43 » Sat Aug 22, 2009 11:43 pm

Thursday, all day, I took my 20 year old niece on an 10 mile hike, up and down an 11,000 ft mountain in Wyoming. I hadn't "peak bagged" this particular piece of geology in 5 years.

Still sore today, but it is good to know I am sstill fit enough to incure upon myself such pain.

Congratulations on the hike. I can relate. Today I turned 56 years old myself. I did not hike in mountains today, though I often do and am on mountain rescue team here. However I did go to the gym and got a good workout. Like you I lost a bit of weight. I gave up beer which was not easy, believe me. One year ago I was 242 pounds, now 205. I would like to get to 185 or so but it will take me a while to do that.

Congratulations on your weight loss. I kind of hover around 180 pounds, sometimes up to 184/5, down to 175. But usually around 180. Last summer (2008), I got up to 194. Not pretty.
