New 21 day attempt

Post by mrsj » Tue Mar 09, 2010 9:43 am

O.K. I'm going to commit myself to another 21 days of rangering. I've been getting lazy. Spring ud, spring ud på dine skæve ben...

I'll join you.

Day 1: 3/09- success-12,395 steps
Day 2: 3/10-success-12,606 steps
Day 3: 3/11-success-12,689 steps
Day 4: 3/12-success-need to adjust pedometer: 13,399 steps ?!
Day 5: 3/13-success-calibrated pedometer-14,317 steps.
Day 6: 3/14-success-snowy and rainy today-11,123 steps
Day 7: 3/15-success-12,581 steps
Day 8: 3/16-success-11,000+ steps-accidentally cleared pedometer readings midway through day.
Day 9: 3/17-success-think pedometer is shot. 11,000+ steps as I kept my habits and walking course the same.
Day 10: 3/18-success
Day 11: 3/19-success. This weekend will be challenging: traveling and no pedometer to fall back on to make sure I hit my numbers.
Day 12: 3/20-I'm going to call this an "S day" and chalk it up to travel.
Day 13: 3/21-success
Day 14: 3/22-success
Day 15: 3/23-success
Day 16: 3/24-success
Day 17: 3/25-success
Day 18: 3/26-success
Day 19: 3/27-success
Day 20: 3/28-success - replaced battery on OLD pedometer, returned new one. We'll see if I can get it calibrated, but for our purposes, I don't think it matters.
Day 21: 3/29-success- got the pedometer calibrated, but didn't wear it until 1/2 way through the day.

I think this was a success. I'm going to start wearing the pedometer again to keep me honest, especially on weekends. Also, as budget permits, I will add a treadmill in-house and mount my computer above it so I can surf the web and walk at the same time. Using these principles, I have gotten down to my high-school weight, but leaner and more muscular. I am very pleased, though I have a bit more to do--remember "during".

Day 01, Mar 09: Didn't wear pedometer, but home ranged. Scrubbed down the kitchen. Ranged home groceries.

Day 02, Mar 10: Ranged to visit friends. Home ranged. Pedometer 5019 steps. Not bad for a former couch potato!

I'm SO HAPPY THAT I'M NOT ALONE ANYMORE!!!

GOOD TO SEE YOU, PIRATEMAN!

Sorry that I've taken so long. I range every day with trusty Thor. I range home the groceries. I home range and now I garden range. I find myself "forgetting" things so I have to range again!

My pedometer is registering anywhere between 7-8000 steps a day. I have a really good quality pedometer that doesn't register micro movements and it resets itself every night at midnight. It's impossible to cheat that thing! (I have tried...)

I guess that I'm qualified for at least 1 more 21 day achievement.

I've even found that on my S days that I range about 8000 steps. What makes me ecstatic is that I'm not totally exhausted at the end of the day.
I'm increasing my steps slowly so that I don't get tendonitis again.

I guess that Urban Rangers are too busy rangeing to post...

Happy Tromping!
