Mariposa Daily Check In

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

Mariposa Daily Check In

Post by Mariposa1127 » Thu Apr 16, 2015 12:16 pm

4-14-15 Day 1: Success! This is my 30th try at the No S Diet but it's going to stick this time.

Day 2: Success! Had dinner at 8:30 but because I stuck with the No S rules I had no indigestion from eating so late.

Day 3: Success!! Yummy fish for dinner!

It definitely took me a few tries to make NoS stick. Eventually when I was tempted to quit, a little voice would say "you know you're just going to come back so why bother quitting?" I finally realized that doing any other diet messed with my head and doing nothing just caused me to keep gaining so doing anything other than NoS seemed pretty pointless.

Anyway you're doing great & it's almost an S day--yay!

Your absolutely right Linda. That's exactly what I have been telling myself as well. Thanks for the encouragement. One week down. It's really not as difficult as I thought it would be. I overeat because I get anxious so I have had to do other things to get rid of my anxiety.

Day 10: Success!
Day 11: Success!
Day 12 S Day!
Day 13 S Day!

This is getting a lot easier. This weekend I went a little to much on the sweets and realized how terrible it made me feel. Decided when I am having an S day I will try to keep it down to one sweet. Only 7 more days until I make it to the 21 Day club! So excited!

I weigh every Monday morning five minutes from waking up and no other time during the week. So far I have lost .5 each week so from 240 to 238.

Day 14 Success!
April 28th Day 15 Success!
Day 16 Success!

Going great! I had some Greek Yogurt with fruit on the bottom. I was surprised how sweet it tasted to me, and how I dd not want to eat anymore. It's getting easier each day. So happy that it is finally sticking for me.

Almost to 21 day's!!

Day 17 Success!

For whatever reason today was tough. I was starving by dinner but I think that was because we ate really late. Still going strong. Only a few more day's until I reach the 21 day club. Excited!!
