Mariposa Daily Check In

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

Mariposa Daily Check In

Post by Mariposa1127 » Wed Dec 23, 2015 2:10 pm

Day 1 12/22/15: Success! I read an article about gluttony and knew that the No S Diet was the answer to my problem. I have tried the No S Diet more times than I can count and failed but I know this time will be different.

Good for you!

My blog https://noelfigart.com/wordpress/ I talk about being a freelance writer, working out and cooking mostly. The language is not always drawing room fashion. Just sayin'.

Thank you!

12/23/15: Success! Was a little nervous because I had a six inch sub and no plate to put it on but I reminded myself not to micromanage. I had the sub and some chips and was fine. No sweets, seconds, or snacks!

Thanks for the suggestion FarmerHal :-)

Day 6 12/27/15: S Day!

I am really looking forward to tomorrow and healthy eating. I learned a lot with my first S weekend. Mostly that I want to stick with one sweet a day. Eating between meals is crazy because you feel hungry all day long. Eating lots of sweets makes you want something to counteract the sweetness. A vicious cycle I never observed before.
