ladybird's check in

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

I bet you miss all your social groups! And I'm sure all your friends miss your enthusiastic and supportive presence, as well!

Interesting you said you need to cut down on the fatty foods. LOL, that's exactly what I have to face - for me, it's massive quantities of cream in my coffee everyday that I think might be causing me to gain weight. Ugh. I hate being hungry and I think the only solution is to have a little hunger sometimes. Sigh.

Thanks for the kind words Auto.

Yes, calories still count. I also hate being hungry, but I pick my battles and find being hungrier earlier in the day much easier to tolerate
than later. So I don't usually have my first meal til late morning.

Some restrictions have just been lifted here, so I can now visit my friend's homes for garden working bees. Yayyy!

Monthly update:

May

26 days: 3 meals a day
5 days: unplanned snacks

The effect of cutting back a bit on the extra fat at mealtimes was to make me hungrier & lead to unplanned snacking.
Net effect on my weight - zero as far as I can tell

Weight still sitting between 140 and 142.

Still exercising. My hiking group has resumed with shorter walks. No car pooling, so all walk are in the local forests, of which we have quite a lot.

For June I will be concentrating on 3 meals a day. I want to get that base line solid.

Wow, over 3 months since I posted last. I am still doing No S, my weight chugging along around 142 lbs for June and July.
Then after logging my food for a month on a calorie counter, I dropped a couple of lbs. A month is as much as I could bear, but it did show
me where I could cut a few calories relatively painlessly. (I didn't eat to a calorie target, just noted a rough count of what I ate).

Current weight: 137 after being sick and not eating much for a week. I expect there will a bit of rebound as
my appetite gets back to normal.

One thing that please me is that after several years of practicing NoS, my former habit of overeating at meal
times has disappeared without me really noticing it. Earlier this year, not long after lock down started, I found my
weight creeping up a bit with a bit of comfort eating & unwise food choices. But I was able to nip that quickly
in the bud. What a change.

I logged calories for two months, I think, at the beginning of 2020. I was looking for a certain limit to protein and fat, and had relapsed a fair amount at the end of 2019, so I was willing to do it to recalibrate things. It helped me see what reasonable meals looked like. Just the idea of having to track forever is enough normally to keep me pretty honest about how much I serve myself.

Hey Ladybird,
Great to hear from you and this all sounds very positive. Calorie tracking for short periods of time is a good idea I think. I occasionally do vague ‘tot-ups’ of roughly how much I’m eating, and it helps to remind me whether I can truly expect to lose any weight.

Hope your week goes well!

Well, my rebound eating went on a bit longer than I expected, and what with the extra food and the lack of
exercise, and not feeling particularly well, my weight went up to 147. Feeling a lot better now.

At the start of December I finally got myself together enough to start logging my food. A few days later I twisted my knee.
While this has meant that I have had to be very careful and gradual about getting fit again, it has helped me much with
my motivation. Those few days before I could hobble around the block with a stick and knee brace gave me an unwelcome
glimpse of what it is like to not be able to do things. I can see more knee problems in my future if I don't get a bit
more weight off.

Today my weight is down to 143. I have only made two changes from my usual NoS practice. One is logging my food and paying attention to my hunger and satiety levels. Boring, boring, boring, but it has given me clear insight that it doesn't take much going overhungry or not eating enough at meals to lead to snacks or overeating.

The other is if I do have a day where I am extra hungry, I have a snack or two and don't count it as a failure. And the next day or two, I make sure that I have bigger meals.

Actually, there is one other change to how I was eating during October and November - I have cut out for the moment some energy dense foods which I have found from experience aren't compatible with weight loss. At least, not in the quantities I eat them if they are in the house.

Weight this morning 143, so no weight loss in the last week.

Still sticking to 3 meals per day, had one midnight snack after I misjudged things and was too hungry to sleep.
I made sure I ate more the next day or so. Still logging my food to keep accountable, & making sure that I am hungry before
I eat. I will see how I go the next week before doing any other changes.

Thanks Auto.

Mon - success. Still have an upset stomach, suspect result of overindulgence in bacon last week.
Tues - success. Felt very tired and stressed after my morning walk before having an earlier than usual breakfast. Had a large breakfast and felt a lot better after. Spent a lot of the day catching up on sleep. Had to exert will power to stop eating dinner while I could still call it moderate. Woke up wanting to eat during the night (unusual) but ignored it.
Wed- success, but a bit wonky. Didn't have a proper lunch, because I couldn't be bothered, and was over hungry as a result
by dinner time. Dinner was delicious, and moderate. Bought 4 yellow clingstone peaches this morning, an old variety but a goody and ate them all today.

Thurs 21 Jan success, although hungry again in the night (ignored). Not sure why, as I feel like I
am eating plenty during the day. May be due to disturbed sleep interfering with circadian rhythms.
Fri 22 success
Sat 23 success, but had was aware of a desire to dive into the food before breakfast. Also had to ignore
mid afternoon desire for food - wasn't sure if it was true hunger or not, but waited until usual meal time.
Also hungry in the night again. I am having disturbed sleep due to various lower back and knee problems.
I am doing a lot of self treatment, but am really looking forward to physical therapy again once I have
been vaccinated against the dreaded.
Sun 24 success, 3 meals as usual.
Mon 25 - went out for morning walk. Will be hibernating against the heat the rest of the day. The local kangaroos have been coming in to my yard to rest up in the shade during the day. We treat each other with wary respect - some of
the males are quite big boys. There is also a female and a joey who are regulars.

Found myself doing something I hardly ever do - unconscious eating. It was really minor, just the remains of some cooked rice
while clearing up. But it was a surprise when I caught myself at it. I like to have a definite end to my meals, and eating while
clearing up after doesn't fit. Remembered Reinhard's "fence around the law" and "comical strictness".

As I have not lost any appreciable weight in the last 3 weeks, it is time for a review.

When I started getting back on track at the beginning of last December, I promised myself that I would
do whatever it takes to get rid of more of the remaining excess weight around my middle.

My 3 meals a day compliance is good. I am hungry at meal times. I feel that that habit is pretty solid now. But I am still eating a bit too much at meals sometimes. So that needs to go.

I have been concentrating on 3 substantial meals per day. Time to get back to dishing my whole
meal out at once, and not going back for seconds. So success needs to be not only 3 meals per day, but no seconds
as well. Sweets aren't a problem - I enjoy sweet foods up to a point, but find fresh fruit sweet enough. And baked
Hawaiian sweet potato is pretty much like eating cake. (Alright, I like plain food).

Sun 7/2 - weekly review

Had a successful week with the 3 meals, no seconds, except one day when I was extra hungry after more
exercise than usual the previous day and ended up having supper.

Still no weight loss, not surprising as I am still having fairly large meals and doing a lot of sitting around.

It's time for the next step in gradually tightening things - portion control. I did mention a while ago that I was
going to do this, but obviously I wasn't really serious as I didn't follow through with it.

To deal with the extra hungry days, I will continue to allow large meals with no snacks or seconds so that I can continue to
maintain the habit.

On normal days, I will have portion controls. I won't detail them here, but they will involve the minimum amount of
measuring I can get away with.

On the exercise front, I am gradually increasing the amount of exercise I do, but am still not back to full fitness yet.
I am now off for my morning walk.

Sounds like a good plan! I noticed after about a week of smaller meals that I am getting full faster with less food, and the small portions don't leave me feeling unsatisfied, so hopefully, your smaller portions will have a similar effect for you.

I have now been using portion control at meal times for 2 weeks. It is going well, and I have not been seriously tempted
to break my self-imposed rules. I am trying to be what Reinhard calls comically strict. My meals are generous enough to prevent serious hunger, & varied enough to prevent boredom.

I will give my current portions another 2 weeks, and then reassess. I seem to need at least a month to see if any intervention
is really working as far as weight loss goes.

Portion control reviews - success was mixed. My weight has stabilized at 142 - 143, which is good, but no further weight loss.
After the first two weeks, I started getting hungrier and my Nos S compliance slipped which is not good. It turns out that imposing artificial portion controls rather than eating the amount I want to make it harder to stick to 3 meals, no snacks and no seconds. At the moment I am just going to concentrate on getting a month of good No S compliance again with that happy state where I am hungry at meals, and eating enough to feel like I have had enough, but not too much.

thought I would do a month of success/failure
Mon 8 mar - failure, seconds of fruit for dinner, ate too much
Tues 9, Wed 10 - success
Thurs 11 - technical success, but too much dinner
Friday 12- technical failure, but no overeating. Organized a walk with friends along a local trail that goes thru rolling hills.
Some magnificent old trees and good company. Picked blackberries for morning tea instead of having a proper breakfast. Also had an afternoon snack as was hungrier than usual after morning walk and missing one proper meal.
Sat 13 - 3 meals & supper =ok because an S day
Sun 14 3 meals
Mon -Fri 15th - 19th success, relatively easy as long as I am not restricting my meals & remember I have to report here!!
Sat 20 - 3 meals. Had seconds for lunch which as it turned out, I didn't really need.It took longer than usual to be hungry enough for dinner.
Sun 21 - 3 meals
Mon 22 - failure - overhungry for lunch after missing breakfast and working in a friends garden am. Usual size meal just wasn't enough, so had seconds.
Tues 23 - Thurs 25 - success
Fri 26 - technically a success but -
Sat 27 - 3 meals plus a snack early hours - didn't eat enough Friday to stop me getting hungry during night
Sun 28 - 3 meals
Mon 29,Tues 30, Wed 31 - success

Ladybird: Same thing happened to me with artificial portion control. At first, it was fine but then I got hungrier and I was sticking the to No S way of life less often.

Good idea to track your month!

Well, March was reasonably successful, with a compliance rate of about 80% for N days.
Ended the month at the bottom of my current weight range, which was pleasing.
Mar weight - 142 - 144.
Also starting to regain my fitness after a break last year.

Thurs April 1 - failure. Had supper - b'fast was small & lacking protein, due to lack of planning on my part. Only had a small meal as had a busier than normal day. Also hungry because of walking for 21/2 hours up and down in the local bush with my hiking group.
Fri 2 - success
Sat 3 - 3 meals sort of - dinner was extended, I felt too tired to cook a proper meal, didn't have anything handy, eventually put on something easy but sometime after I finished eating I realised that I felt like I had eaten a bit too much. So much easier to judge things when I dish out a proper meal all at once. However, not a failure, but a learning experience.
Sun - 4 - several small meals due to not feeling well
Mon 5 -success
Tues 6 - failure -eating to make me feel better instead of hunger, although started the day hungrier than usual
Wed 7 - failure, also eating more than needed & having a rest day
Thurs 8, Fri 9 - success. Walk in the bush with friendship group in beautiful Autumn weather
Sat 10 - 3 meals
Sun11 - 2 proper meals, a bit of grazing for the 3rd
Mon 12, Tues 13, Wed 14, Thurs 15, Fri 16 - success
sat 17, sun 18 - 3 meals
Mon 19, Tues 20 - success
Wed 21 - success - I woke up hungrier than the previous 2 days, so had larger meals. Also allowed myself seconds for dinner - that's the sort of seconds I have when I tell myself if my first go doesn't feel enough, I will dish myself out a bit more of what I've cooked for dinner. It is pre-planned, not random grazing, so I still count it as a success as long as I don't feel like I have eaten too much. I have found that trying to ignore hungrier days just backfires.
Thurs 22 - success - walked with walking group am, largish breakfast after, also substantial lunch so dinner was quite late due to lack of hunger & smaller than usual.
Fri 23 - success
Sat 24, Sun 25 - 3 meals
Mon 26, Tues 27, Wed 28, Thurs 29, Fri 30 - success
Three meals a day - not too little not too much, but just right

April had a bit of a shaky start, but I have settled down into a nice regular eating pattern of 3 meals and no snacks at the moment, and my overall success rate was higher than last month.

Weight was about the same, 142 - 143 lbs.

May was much the same as usual, mostly 3 meals a day with the occasional supper once or twice a week and about 3 occasions when I either ate a bit more than needed or was not really hungry for a meal. This is obviously good enough to maintain my weight, as I finished the month on 142 again in spite of not doing much walking some weeks.

In the middle of the month I started a food log which I am keeping in an open notebook on my kitchen bench next to my exercise record. I am finding writing things down and keeping them in a place I visit often during the day (next to the kettle) is making me more mindful of my food choices and amounts.

Recently I saw a friend I haven't seen for some time. She has put on weight as older Australians often do. Alas, constant vigilance and a certain amount of dietary strictness is necessary for us older women if we don't want to do the same.

We are in lockdown again here. I am glad I got my first dose of COVID vaccine last week, although it will be another 3 months til I am fully vaccinated. Had 3 days of not feeling particularly well, but no other problems. Worth it for the feeling of relief I had once that needle finally went into my arm.

Tues June 1 - success
Wed 2 fail, had supper
Thurs 3, Fri 4 - success
Sat 5 - 3 meals - turned out to not be enough, as hungry during the night. I didn't really want to get up and snack, but I ended up not having as good a night sleep as I would have liked.
Sun 6 - extra hungry day - I did more exercise this week than for a while - so 3 meals and 2 snacks
Mon 7 - still hungrier than usual - it takes a while for me to catch up if I let myself get too hungry, so doing a bit of clock watching this afternoon while waiting for dinner time. That mid-afternoon feeling of wanting to eat will hopefully go away soon.............Made it thru to dinner time, so success.
Tues 8 - appetite seems to have returned to normal, success
Wed 9 - Fri 11 - success
Sat 12 - 3 meals
Sun 13 - 3 meals + 2 snacks - a little bit of eating when not strictly hungry
Mon 14 - Wed 16 - success
Thurs 17 , Fri 18 success
Sat 19 - 2 meals + another that was in 3 widely spaced lots, however I am counting as one meal by volume, just not eaten all at the same time ED (rationalizing a bit probably)
Sun 20 - 3 meals, probably overdid the amount of baked sweet potato, at least my stomach said the volume was more than I needed.
Mon 21 - two moderate meals so far, success
Tues 22 - Thurs 24, success
Fri 25 - failure, had supper as was extra hungry after a couple of days of lighter eating (no seconds) & a bit more walking
Sat 26 - 3 meals
Sun 27 - one meal so far, 2 more
Mon 28 - success - extra hungry when woke up in the morning, so tried to have bigger meals - had seconds for dinner, but I am not counting that as a failure, rather as a failure preventive. I've been cutting back on the seconds lately, but I do find it makes it harder not to end up undereating at meal times.
Tue 29 - woke up hungry this morning too. Most of the time I don't. Success
Wed 30 - 2 meals so far, success

Gosh, I had no idea Australia was in lockdown again. We (UK) have had our 'release' date moved to 19th July. I just had my second jab (11.5 weeks after the first one). I didn't feel any relief after I was vaccinated - kind of disappointed about that. Most of my friends felt that relief you described, and also wave their vaccination status around like a shield of immunity; I don't feel any safer than before!

It wasn't the whole of Australia, just the state I live in - we have temporary strict lock downs of a couple of weeks or so when we have a quarantine outbreak while the contact tracers do their work. Then restrictions get gradually eased as case numbers decrease. Fortunately, I live in a regional area, so by now restrictions are minimal, and case numbers where I live are zero.

That's good! I live in Cornwall (SW tip of the UK) and our rates are going up again after having loads of holiday-visitors here over school half-term and when the hospitality sector opened up. Now we're waiting for the aftermath of the G7 being here last weekend!

RC, do you fear the 5% failure rate? I feel pretty safe now, especially because the stats show that for the most part, even if contracted, the symptoms are much milder and the death rate close to zero. Maybe I just want to believe but I don't think I'm far off.

California is opening up and honestly, I can't see people being willing to go back even if death rates go up. I would, but that's me. Some people think that the ones getting sick and dying refused to be vaccinated and that's their choice. But it costs everyone for the medical system to deal with the fallout. Then again, the same is true for other risky behaviors and for lifestyle-induced diseases. Humans!

Didn't mean to get too sidetracked. Sounds like No S is working satisfactorily. I've been saying here on my thread, I think, and on other sites, that the idea that there is some easy breezy way to lose or maintain weight is kind of a myth. I know Reinhard had success without seeming torture, but I think he already had a tuned mind set for systemization. wd? Having something fit your natural proclivity can really help.

Well June went comparatively well, with only 2 failures on n days, and one day of a bit of funny business, a success rate of about 90%.

Perhaps as a result, or perhaps because writing down my food has made me more mindful, my weight dipped to a new low since Feb of 141 lbs. I will continue to log my food in my food diary for the moment.

Thurs 1 july success
Fri 2, 2 meals so far, success
Sat 3, 1 meal so far, 3 meals
Sun 4, 1 meal so far, 3 meals
Mon 5 success, seconds for lunch. As it has been a month since I saw my last new low on the scales, I've decided to make a note of when I have seconds on N days as an aid to mindfulness. I am not counting seconds as a failure yet (unless I'm just eating for the sake of eating which I don't often do now)
Tues 6 - Thurs 8, success although I felt like I had too much dinner on Thurs
Fri 9 - 2 meals so far, success
Sat 10 - 3 meals
Sun 11 - one rather substantial meal so far, but it is an S day. 3 meals

re the vaccination - yes, I don't feel 100% safe, the vaccinations reduce the danger, but there are too many stories of double-vaccinated people getting very poorly. Also, in the UK at least, they're now proposing booster shots starting in September - so my thinking is, if the vaccines are so successful, why do we need booster shots so soon? The Delta variant is much more transmissible, and can look like a common cold if someone double-vaccinated gets it; they then pass it around for a few days before they start feeling ill enough to realise it might be Covid. I saw a report from Australia actually, which had shown the the virus had been transmitted between two people, outdoors, in under 10 seconds of being near each other.

It's a conundrum. I was thinking boosters might be due around September.

I'm happy to do a small amount of tracking. Its useful for keeping the exercise up, but I can't see myself writing down my food for the long term. I think of the latter as training wheels.

No, that's just what we call a small mid afternoon meal or snack where I come from - tea is not necessary, nor is sipping daintily from fine bone china. The name is anglo though. We also have breakfast, morning tea, lunch or dinner, tea or dinner depending on class and state, and supper, although supper wasn't even a thing in my childhood home. Neither was brunch. When I was very small at school we had play lunch at morning tea time.

My favourite afternoon tea was my Nana's date scones made with white flour. A distant memory, but a good one.

Well, July went pretty well. Only one failure on an N day, very few seconds - there might have been a couple I didn't note.
Had 2 meals where I felt like I had overloaded my stomach a bit, so still have some work to do there. I am having one of those periods when I can go a bit hungrier without it bothering me too much.

My weight had another dip this month. Current weight range is 140 - 142 lb.

Sun 1 Aug 3 meals & one snack
Mon 2 Aug success
Tues 3 failure - snack before dinner - I think it was mostly hunger, but I was having a low energy couple of hours so probably a bit of food craving mixed up with it. I don't really regret giving in - it was only a drink of cocoa and an apple. Then I had a proper dinner as usual.

Mon 9 Aug - 2 meals so far. success
Tues 10 Aug - out all day travelling & walking with friends, so meal schedule was a bit chaotic. Failure, 2 proper meals, 2 snacks. All eaten when hungry.
Wed 11 aug - fail, 3 meals & a snack - still getting hungrier than usual. Don't want to eat more at meals as this will make my stomach feel uncomfortable.
Thurs 12 aug - 2 meals so far, split breakfast into morning tea & lunch as out walking with a group, which made one normal sized meal. I don't usually have breakfast before I go out at 8 am, as I am not usually hungry then.
Fri 13 - success. Lunch and dinner were more solid than usual as I have been going hungrier than I like lately, which is leading to more snacking. Even after all this time, I still find it difficult to get the balance between eating too little and eating too much right.
sat 14 3 meals
Sun 15 3 meals & suppper

I don't think it's my imagination that I can feel the body resist any fat loss, even though my body fat is high enough to support it. Eating at the wrong times will just sound like the most reasonable thing in the world.

I am pretty sure that my brain thinks 142 lbs is the right weight for me - at least, that is a weight I can maintain without much effort. However, I am not sure that my knees agree.

As for eating at the wrong times, I think that eating when I am not hungry is a wrong time. And eating during the night because I am hungry when I would much rather be in bed asleep is also eating at the wrong time. And eating when I have already had enough - a tricky point to judge though for me. Too many veg & not enough heavy food I under eat. Too much heavy food and not enough veg and fruit, and I don't lose weight or worse, my weight starts going up again.

It would be really nice to be one of those people whose hunger and fullness signals work well without much attention, but I am not one of them.

I have been struggling with the hunger and fullness signals too. I am pretty good about not eating unless I am hungry, but eating past satisfaction is something I still have to work on. And I think my body really really likes 160/165 pounds. I guess its good that its easy to maintain but I feel better when Im 10 pounds less. I sympathize.

Mon 16 - failure - 3 meals + supper. My usual meals just aren't cutting it at the moment, perhaps because I have been doing more walking.
Tues 17 - Thurs 19 success. 2nd COVID jab Wednesday.
Fri 20 - failure - due to not planning ahead ended up having a snack while waiting for my meal to cook. I could have called it an s for sick day as haven't quite recovered from my second jab yet.
Sat 21, sun 22 - 3 meals

HI ladybird! Hope you are feeling better!

I noticed my Covid vaccines made me REALLY hungry for some reason. It was weird.

Our brains really do have a set point (or range) in mind. I've also learned that different bodies have different fat plasticity. Oy! But I am not complaining. I realize I have it pretty easy compared to some. I'm not one of those naturally thin people, but it could be a lot worse.

August review - I struggled with getting too hungry during the first half of the month, and as a result had quite a lot of snacks. Eventually I changed my thinking and stopped worrying about trying to lose weight, and made sure my meals were substantial enough to carry me thru. After a week of more solid eating, my appetite returned to normal and sticking to 3 meals a day became relatively easy again. On the plus side, I can't remember doing any obvious overeating at mealtimes.

No new low on the scales this month, but my weight has been very stable - about 140 -141. I didn't bother to record any weight data on my spreadsheet as I was seeing much the same weight every day.

Wed 1 Sep, Thurs 2, Fri 3 - success
Sat 4 - 3 meals
Sun 5 - 3 meals + afternoon snack
Mon 6, Tues 7, Wed 8, Thurs 9 - success
Fri 10 failure, had supper, a little too much as it turned out according to my stomach
Sat 11, Sun 12 - 3 meals

I think we talked about this on my check in, but I had the same problem with making my meals too small and snacking a lot. I am starting to stabilize a bit with that too.

Looks like a good beginning of September!

Mon 27, Tues 28, Wed 29 success
Thurs 30 - fail. Lunch ended up being 2 snacks instead of a proper meal - I wasn't keeping an eye on the time, had to be somewhere & ended up with a snack before and after. I count it as a fail because it was caused by lack of attention and organisation, and it breaks the pattern I am cultivating of ordered eating. Still not too much food though.

September review - a pretty good month on the whole as far as No S goes - only 3 N days fails.

Weight - saw a new low for the month. Weight range 138 - 141.

Fri October 1 - failure: after a bit of wayward thinking had an afternoon snack which turned out to be unnecessary - I wasn't hungry again until 2 hours past my usual meal time.
Sat 2 - 3 meals and 2 snacks, one of which was afternoon tea with friends. Good thing it was an S day.
Sun 3 - had a high calorie breakfast of very energy dense foods. This is the third day where I have been eating more than usual, not a surprise as even as a small weight loss tends to provoke this sort of reaction in me. The only cure I know of is to stick to the three meal structure, but make sure I eat enough at meal times. And have proper, balanced meals.
3 meals for the day

I never thought of how even a small loss could have that effect, it's good you made that connection and have the awareness to know you just need to stick to the plan until your body gets settled.

I have the same sort of thing with a loss oftentimes ladybird. It's good that you are aware of it. I think you are right, the best thing to do is make sure you get enough to eat and keep up the 3 meal structure.

Yes, now I can see the pattern I can just sit it out without all the negative emotions that this provoked in me when I was younger.

October summary - a pretty good month on the whole, only 2 fail days.
Still noting what foods I eat for the day, but not bothering with writing down each meal individually now. It was helpful a few months ago, but at the moment I don't feel that it is necessary.

Saw a new low (since Dec 20) weight for the month.

Weight range - 139 - 136. My weight is now staying below 140 lbs.

I have been picking myself lately. I can’t believe how often I convince myself it’s fine at the time but later know I would have been better off waiting in my case to let the body clear glucose.
