Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

It’s an S day.

B: 3 eggs, bowl of corn chips (we need groceries LOL) Coffee/milk
L: bowl of very yummy roast beef from the instant pot
D: homemade veggie beef soup, half piece corn bread
S: Son made us all fudge brownies. Had a rectangular piece, probably 2 servings

Water and peppermint tea today too.

Good day. Making a new relationship. I really need to make it far less important in my life.

HEre’s something. My sister, for the last 18 months, developed extreme stomach pain, weight loss and many other symptoms. She has several diagnoses but the doctors can’t agree on how to treat her, one med for one with will worsen the other, it’s absolutely infuriating. She went from 178 pounds to 98 pounds’!
ONe thing this has taught me about food, is that you really don’t need a whole lot to still keep you alive!!! THis means, I can last between meals. (And hot peppermint tea is nice hunger relief as well)

I’m currently 228, which is not my worst, my most was 245 (HORRIBLE), but You know, I think my joints would appreciate 199 a little more, dont’ you think?

See you tomorrow.

Seconds for dinner as a fail on a bad day? I know that I have had far worse days than that. So give yourself some credit.
Three meals a day - not too little not too much, but just right

Sorry to hear you're having a rough self-esteem time. It's never nice to mark a red but I agree with ladybird, the ability to avoid the slide into 'what the hell' thinking when the day is already red is a real positive.

I'm also wondering if your interesting lunch choice had anything to do with reaching for seconds at dinner
