Well, I was going to start by telling in detail my five days with No S diet, but I think I'll start from scratch and start from today.

To resume, I will say that I have realized that I have only made one green day and one orange day, and that it is very easy to believe that one is in the method when it is not at all. I love registering my days here, it helps to become aware when we're doing it wrong, and it takes away that classic feeling of being "always" on a diet when it's not like that at all. And we tend to tell everything as a whole, when the real season doing things right is just a few days loose.

Regarding my first impressions, I will say that on Saturday I had managed to arrive with much less hunger to everything and was very on track, but on Sunday I could not wait to eat sweets again until next weekend, and that made me eat in excess at night.

Of course, I've been wanting to go back to my old diet every day

Anyway, I will continue and give me a new opportunity. Then I will come to tell how my day has gone today.

Hello girls!

As you can see, I left No S. It's much harder than it seems, more so if you're uncertain whether you'll lose weight or not (which is what I do most of the time) but I'm willing to start.
Start a diet over and over again does not bring me anything good, it's more, it has made me gain weight.

So here I am, willing to try to do 21 days well.

Not sure what you meant by "I left No S again." You don't have to succeed every day nor check in to be "on" it. It's a matter of aspiring. You wont know until you give it a few months whether it will bring weight loss as is or if you may need some mods. The point is that doing the least you have to is really your best bet. It's much easier to get tougher later than to get tough at first, stall, and then be stuck with having to give up more and more.

Going on and off diets hasn't gotten you to two years of maintenance, right? Stay here for awhile. If nothing else, you will have learned something about eating.

(BTW, two years of maintenance is the absolute minimum considered by scientists who study weight loss for saying that a person has "lost weight" and has at least a 50% chance of maintaining it. Don't despair! You'll notice if you pay attention that it is not torture all the time. In fact, it's "torture" very little of the time, IF you also make efforts to find what is interesting in life besides eating and losing weight.)

Thanks for your words oolala53, they encourage me a lot.

With leaving No S I wanted to say that I have been bingeing, I have started a diet, I have lasted two days and I have bingeed again. I agree with what you say and I am willing to give you a chance and stay here for a long time.

Success.

Today I felt very good about this plan, I have eaten very tasty and I have taken it very well.
This afternoon an unforeseen event occurred, I was thinking of having a coffee with milk when I returned from picking up my daughter from school, but another mother invited us to have a snack at her house. I wanted to have a coffee with milk there, but I did not have it, so I have had a tea and I have endured like a champion. I have come home hungry for dinner, but I have endured and I am very happy.

Tomorrow for another green day!

I just had an absolutely amazing thing happen!

I am planning my day today, the purchase that I will make, what I will cook, etc ... and thinking about the breakfast that I will make to my daughter in a while (when I wake her up) I have realized that I ALSO have to have breakfast , I still have not done it !!!! This for me is a miracle !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Success.

Today I have hardly thought of food ... my day has passed without anxiously waiting for the next meal. This is novel and incredible for me. I'm very happy. I feel excited and relaxed in equal parts (although this is totally incompatible  )

Tomorrow for another day well done.

Today I woke up very hungry, but it is normal, yesterday I ate very light. I did not do it on purpose, I felt full enough and I did not want anything more caloric, but I guess that has been noticed today. Anyway, I'm not worried, I just had my coffee with milk and soon I'll have breakfast.

You fill the plate with more caloric things when you are hungry?

Posted: Fri Feb 09, 2018 6:17 am
by oolala53
I don't. Never did. In fact, I find when I get really hungry, most of the time, it takes less food before I start feeling full. But I usually eat what's on my plate, It's a reasonable plate!

Perfect!

Well, I'll continue as I do today; I also find that my dishes are reasonable, and I know I can deal with a bit more hunger between meals. I read in this forum that someone had endured the feeling of hunger and after a while he was gone. And it is totally true, it has happened to me these days. And I love knowing that I can handle it and that it does not control me :)

Some "hunger" is just the body seeking the reward it got at this regular time, or the reward of a junk-type food. Also, everyone has some stored glucose. When the ingested glucose and insulin levels drop, the body goes after the stored glucose. If we didn't have that, there likely wouldn't be humans because they all would have starved looking for food.(and it's usually only after the stored glucose is used up that the body goes after fat. So.... )

I wonder sometimes if Reinhard is a little miffed that some members (well, this member) still gets so caught up in the explanations. He has an intuitive sense about these things without having to know how it all worked. It would be interesting if there could be a study that compared people who committed to do nothing except keep to Vanilla-no more reading than the nosdiet blurb and the book- and use Habitcal vs. people who kept scanning the internet for more appetite and slim country eating habits. The first group might win... :(

:P :P That sounds really good!

Oolala, it's very likely that it's about that, yes  . Bad habits that will disappear little by little.

Today has been another day of success.
I have been hungry for most of the day, just like in my times of hypocaloric diets, but strangely, I have not felt that I should skip anything, or abandon anything, because I am eating normally (like normal people) and what I like. I do not want to leave No S, and I do not feel desperate or hopeless with "another method". On the contrary, I just want to go on and on ... and I know that the feeling of "hunger" will disappear. I swear that with any other diet, I would feel absolutely defeated, and at this point of the day, I would have had a binge or several. But with No S no, and I feel very happy.

Hello girls! I'm going to post and because tonight I have dinner and movies with some friends and I'll be late.

Today I woke up with two good news: I lost 2.6 pounds and I tried a jersey that was recently adjusted, and I have more loose and I look better with him. This has made my morning more happy than losing weight; It is true what I have read here that the important thing is to look better and not kilos.

I do not intend to weigh me again until next Friday, it will be my official weight day, although I do not want to obsess; later on it is likely to space more my heavy. I am very aware that this is a long-term race and losing weight or not will not stop me.

Another thing that has happened to me is that I have felt fuller with my usual breakfast, yesterday's hunger has disappeared.
Today I intend to enjoy the food, but without spending it. I think one dessert this evening after dinner and another after lunch will be enough. Tomorrow I will tell you if it has been like this or not.

Have a wonderful day!

What happens to Rawcookie happens to me, too. I read it as the body's rebellion against losing for dear life's sake. But since I know it to be an illusion that I'm in danger, I think we've come to an agreement. It's higher than it was at its lightest, but the urges are less annoying, too.

It IS convenient to look more like the image, but I think if you read through, more people are actually more reinforced for feeling more content and more appreciation for the food they do eat. That's what can often sustain people through whatever discipline they need to solidify the habits. Then if it's really important, they can try more reining in knowing what the adjustment period is like.

Which is not to say I'm not very happy :D for you!

Thank you very much Oolala! :D

I understand perfectly that you want to tell me, and I am beginning to feel it myself. There are no rules (except the s) and I do not have to be subject to a certain number of carbohydrates, or proteins, I do not have to be thinking all the time if I can eat it or not, etc ... it's very liberating !!! !!!!! Although I recognize that the fear of getting fat is still too strong in me, even having evidence that it will not be like that, but it always happens when I start a new "diet", until I do not see that I am going to lose weight, I do not relax. And it is not that I take No S as another diet, I do not even consider it a diet, but this mentality is deeply rooted in me. I go with fear, I admit it.

Yesterday was a very good day. I had my usual plate, and at lunchtime we had some appetizers and the main course. I gave myself permission to eat the appetizers, a soft drink and the dessert, but I found that when eating the appetizers my plate was cut in half, so inadvertently, I made the virtual plate. So my excess was reduced to soda and dessert (which was not too caloric either, a sugary yogurt).

At night, dinner with friends and movies. We went to an Italian restaurant. I was not very hungry (and yesterday I spent my time between meals without coffee and milk :) ). One of my friends suggested ordering two appetizers and two dishes and sharing (We were four) and I thought it was a good suggestion (better than eating without measure as I would have done in the past). We also ordered a couple of drinks and a dessert. I ate much less than on other occasions and again, calculating, I ate what fits on my plate, so very good. Above all, I'm happy because I did not have the anxiety or desire to stuff myself, with this amount of food I felt full enough, but not heavy.

I do not know if I'm doing well by having my moderate S days. Did someone do it from the beginning? I can not help thinking that I'm not doing it correctly anyway and that it would be better to be moderate later on, but on the other hand, I do not see it necessary to eat more and I do not feel restricted. They are normal amounts, not my old amounts of compulsive eater. This is fine as well?

I'm going to mark yesterday and then I'll tell you how it went today.

If it doesn't require a lot of willpower/focus for you to have moderate S Days, by all means keep them moderate.

S Days are meant as a release valve for the willpower required to get through the week. So some people need more release on the weekend and some people need less.

And our release valve needs seem to vary from person to person -- I personally find that I really need the freedom to graze on the weekends; other people really really want sweets; and I guess some people just want to eat copious quantities of food (seconds, thirds, fourths). We can apply oolala's suggestion -- be calm & curious as we watch what we seem to desire on the weekends. It changes over time.

But if you don't feel that need, or if you don't feel it strongly, then don't manufacture it just so the day looks "S-ey"; I personally would LOVE to have a time come when my S Days are very "N-ey".

Thank you very much automatedeating :D !!!! Today I have been rereading Reinhard's book and he says that perfect S days are those that are the same as No S days but with some whim. And that's what mine are. Personally, I'm not a big pecker, but I love sweets and my diet history, when I do not make one, like in large quantities. So, I have already managed to reduce my quantities without undue hassles, with which I suppose it is not necessary to increase them over the weekend. I'll stay with my days like that, three plates and some sweet whim.

Today has been another good day.

I have eaten my usual breakfast plate, and as we have eaten later than usual (guests at my mother-in-law's house) I have been a little hungry before eating, but curiously, even though I start my meal with a snack, then I fill up with half of the main course, and I end up eating the same amount as in the days No S. Then I had a dessert and I spent the whole afternoon without needing milk or anything to get right to dinner.

For dinner, ham sandwich and a little vegetable and for dessert a little ice cream, like a big ball.

And that's all for today, tomorrow for a green day !!!!!

Today red day.

I have arrived from my daughter's school in a bad mood, tired and a little sad and I have binge. It was not because of hunger, but because of negative thoughts. Menstruation is coming and I suppose it has also been for that. But I did not get discouraged, I did not expect to leave binges so soon. And anyway, I have eaten much less than in other binges. So I mark my day as red and tomorrow to follow.

Yesterday was a green day.

I feel pangs of hunger at certain times of the day, but they calm down with the milk and I know positively that it is because I am pre-menstruating, so I can take it and that's it. As soon as it comes, it will soften.

Yesterday and today red days. I know positively that it is because of the premenstrual syndrome, that although it is not an excuse either, it has me quite fed up this month. I do not worry, I know that adjusting and staying here will take time. At the moment, I am very eager to return to my green days; They feel very good and I do not find it hard to carry. They give me tranquility and peace with the food.

Tomorrow for a day No S !!

Hello everyone!! I'll post again here, and this time I will not say that I left the diet and start again, if not I've had many red days and I'm still trying to have more green

Reflecting, I realized that despite not having done the full month of February (I started on the 7th) and having done only seven green days, six yellows and eight reds, I lost some weight. And that is unquestionable and tells me that this works in the long term. So I'm curious to see what happens if I try to make the month perfect or almost, and I'm looking forward to March :P

Well, I keep going with No S, I've been successful all month.

And it's true what I read in the forum, once you start having a good run, you have nothing to tell. The food is normalized and happens to be that, simply food.

Which does not mean that I do not feel absolutely happy with this way of eating :D

Today I have the birthday of a friend of my eight-year-old daughter. I can avoid the appetizer there and take a light cola, but I do not know how to reject the cake, since it is made by the mother of the girl and it would be discourteous not to try it ... Yesterday I had a red day after a wild Sunday.
Definitely, premenstrual syndrome plays havoc with me. Even so, I'm happy, it was a lot less food than I used to eat in my bingeing days, just a sandwich and a half of cocoa butter, four small jelly beans and a glass of soda. So No S is definitely changing me.

Red frame and I follow

Yes, I could be at the party without a cake, someone gave me the advice to ask the hostess for a piece to take away. Despite not being a habit here in Spain, I tried and it was very good. She was very happy that I appreciated her cake, and I had a wonderful dessert for Saturday
 :D

Thanks for your encouragement!

This week I have a dinner on Wednesday. My eight year old daughter goes camping with the school and we will leave three couples to relax for a while without children. I want to have an S dinner, I love the restaurant we go to and especially, its lemon pie; so I will change on Wednesday by Saturday, we will be quiet at home and it will be easy to do a day No S.

On the other hand, on Monday of next week we left for Lisbon. I'm excited and a little expectant to see what a trip with No S will be like :)

Technically, a person doesn't trade S days. She uses one of two exception days a month. (NWS) That's mostly to avoid the mental energy to start wondering if this or that day should be traded for a weekend day, when it's possible that there will be only one day a person has an S on a weekend. That doesn't mean she can now have an S on another day. There will so often be reasons to deviate from the habit! And then a person is back to bargaining and trading and juggling eating.

But lemon pie does sound good...

It's exactly like that, Oolala ... It's already happening to me ... Today I was wondering if I could not have an S event today and another on Saturday, and an S day on Sunday ...

The problem is that I already made a red this month and I'm not sure that I will not use an Nws during the trip ...

I'll try it anyway and I'll let you know

Yesterday I had a red day, I ate two creamy ice creams after dinner

Definitely, changing the yellow days for days of the week is not a good idea (at least for me).

In the same way, I am happy. On another occasion I would have eaten much more, once the box was opened, I would not have stopped. Now I feel like a normal person, that from time to time has a whim, and this is what I've been waiting for a long time.

On the other hand, today I weigh 1.1 pounds more than last week, but I'm not angry or disappointed as with other diets. If I look at the set, my trend is downward, and the monthly calculation is negative, so that's the only thing that counts. If I think about the alternative, it gives me the chills, I do not want to follow another diet.

I love No S and with her I stay forever :)

Hi Oolala!

Definitely not
I had another red day yesterday. It's amazing how old habits settle very soon again. In my defense I will say that they were not binge-eating, just something sweet after dinner. Yesterday I did it without even thinking, suddenly, I had eaten a piece of pizza that was left over to my daughter, and then another ice cream followed.

But I do not feel very guilty. Marco in red and I follow.
Today will be a quiet day at home and I will make it green. Tomorrow we eat at the restaurant and I can try to eat only one dish without dessert, and so I could mark only one red day this week.

Wish me luck!!

by oolala53
Be very careful of trying to make S days "green." It can backfire later. It would not be a red day for you to have ice cream at the restaurant tomorrow and it would not make it green for you to have no S's. Make N days green!

It's good that you could just mark the slips and move on! You are way ahead of the game on that. :D

Thanks Oolala!

I was thinking about balancing my week a bit, but you're probably right. Today is still a good day, but tomorrow if there is an exquisite dessert in the restaurant I will take it and I will mark yellow :)

Well, I'm back from vacation. I had a succession of reds before leaving, and there I followed the same trend. I have eaten dessert, snack, soft drinks ... Everything that I have wanted, in short. When I came back I was heavy and I lost 0.440 lbs so I was happy.

Summary of the month:

13 green
9 yellows
9 reds
I lost 0.440 lbs (I had lost more, but I recovered it with that long streak of reds)

Still, very animated and happy. I have lost weight (although it is not much, it is a drop) and I have not had any binge (all my meals have been calm and aware of what I was doing).

Target for April: have only two red days.

Come on! :D

Sounds like you are doing great!

I appreciated how you defined a binge as eating without being calm. That helps me identify times that I eat when I am anxious or keyed-up. I don't want to do that. In fact, just this morning I ate some of my kids' Easter chocolate with this antsy, hurried feeling. Yuck!

Posted: Mon Apr 02, 2018 6:00 pm

Thanks, automattedeating !!

Yes, for me a binge is when you eat impulsively, with shame and almost without being aware of it. It's as if you were under the influence of a drug or something ... I do not know if you understand me ... that's why, eating by deciding it yourself and being conscious for me is not a binge. I'm glad it helps you :D

Today red day (Easter in my city!) But tomorrow I'm going to start a four-day green streak. Go for it!!

I've been reflecting on that ... probably if the day of the lemon cake had marked red and followed and I had taken it to NWS I would not have had so many red days this month, I would have stayed with two or three red days only ... Trying to restrict and being too strict (even with No S) leads to it overflowing later.

Today I woke up absolutely depressed. Bad thoughts hover in my head. I think I have to lose about 130 lbs to be as I want (or failing at least 86) and I think if I'm not fooling myself with this (losing 440 lbs this month does not help) and I'll never get it. I know it is not a rational thought since it is given by the premenstrual syndrome, which is one of my enemies, and that is not true at all, since losing so little has been given by a succession of red days. Do not misunderstand me, I am absolutely delighted with the serenity regarding the food that No S has brought me, but I need to lose weight for health and I want to lose weight also for aesthetics, it's been many years of looking for that and I can not change it from night to morning... :(

I have to lose a lot too. What i find helps me is not to overly focus on weight loss but on being healthy. Whenever i've focused of weight loss i'd feel deprived and the feeling of deprivation usually leads to binge eating and obsessing over food.

Yesterday you've had a green day! Congratulations!

Thank you very much Marina!

Today I feel more optimistic, it's just that I'm used to losing weight very fast with all kinds of diets, so losing so slowly makes me doubt everything. However, the good side of this is that it stabilizes my weight in a way that I never got with those other diets, and I value that a lot. Apart from being able to eat what I like, that's priceless !!!!

Thanks again for the encouragement! :D

Hello!!
My family has been home to spend a few days together and I have been very busy, but I am having a good run of green days!

Well done Dalia, I know how you feel about wanting to lose weight. For me looking back at all the years I've been dieting (13) and all the diets I have followed to see I am still the same weight. If I had followed a sensible plan like this one then I would have been much happier and slimmer but we all want the weight to go quickly. I am trying to focus on getting my head out of the diet game and into normal eating. some exercise I enjoy and hopefully weightloss will follow. If not I have lost nothing but time as I wasn't losing weight on the diets either (although I did lose an awful lot of money!)
Kind thoughts coming your way xx

Thank you very much Syfy74!!

It is totally true what you say, if we follow a diet, next year we will probably weigh the same or more, while with No S it will not be like that

Cheer up with No S, I read your journal and you're doing very well!! :D

Today something incredible happened to me. I opened one of the cabinets in my kitchen to get something and I found a bag of a snack that I love. My daughter opened it a week ago and I did not remember that she had stayed there. In my good times of diet that bag would not have left my head until I had devoured it, and now I was not even aware of its existence. This is absolutely liberating and wonderful !!!! :D

How cool. And what a nice feeling to have that head space free for thinking of other kinds.

That is a great feeling, Dalia! I had a similar experience when I left half a bar of my favourite chocolate in the fridge a the end of the weekend, forgot about it, then the following weekend realised that DD had eaten it during the week. This is a total reversal of what normally happens! I eat HER chocolate!

Hurrah for your moment of wonder and joy!

I just cooked a recipe that I used to do when I used the Weight Watchers method. I have left two generous rations and in those days I ate it all at once! The paste was at will for a fixed amount of points, little oil, vegetables and a bit of feta cheese ... but I can not help but be amazed at how I was able to eat such a quantity of food, even though I lost weight, it is still a absurdity...

No S is teaching me so much, that I do not have enough words to express myself ... :)

I'm answering your question about who promoted the idea of 6 meals a day.

The major influence was that the food supply grew and grew and made it easier for the snack food industry to manufacture foods and push them. I think the fact that people spent so much time away from home and thought they needed something to eat, something that didn't involve much prep or that would get your hands "dirty"- snack foods are dry and don't require a container to wash, or much planning-contributed. The other influence was that some research showed that frequent meals slightly raise the metabolism, but it's hard ly enough to offset more eating. The research on meal frequency rages back and forth, but the simple fact is that most slim cultures don't snack! That's overwhelming "research" to me! Lastly, doctors were very fearful of glucose declines and pushed keeping blood sugar up as supposed defense against hunger. But it doesn't depress hunger in most people!

It's so fun to read your posts.

Today I have only had an ice cream and a mini Magnum extra. I want to leave a record because I have realized that since I cut the sugar during the week, I notice the sweets very sweet and with a smaller amount I have enough.

And I do not recognize myself !!!!! I am a new person!!! :P :D

Well done, it is quite liberating isn't it to escape the need for sugar or over eating :)

Thak you very much, Soprano!! :D

Red day yesterday, but because I chose it that way. It was an important day in my city and my husband's saint (here we celebrate the day of our name). There was cake, but I marked red and for a green day today. It's the second NWS of the month, and I hope to finish what's left of it in green.

On the other hand, I'm going through a plateau, I weigh myself daily to see the statistics and I do not worry about the fluctuations, given that the trend is downward, but it took me two weeks to see that the "official" weight day of the week I stay the same ... to top it off, after the weekend and a red day followed today I weigh a kilo more. I know that this kilo is water and it does not really bother me, but the plateau ... someone has happened to this? Have you been able to overcome the plateau over time just by sticking to the plan? I would like opinions and testimonies about it.

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi Dalia,
Things are going very slowly for me, with regular plateaus. It takes me about a month to drop a pound, and during those weeks it will be down-up-down-up-down-up, on and on and on. I think you just have to stick with it. I suspect that if you keep doing No S, your appetite and habits gradually change, leading to better weight loss as time goes by. This is just my impression - I’m a relative newbie of course, have only been going since last December.

Not to discourage you, but I have plateaued for months, and then a few years, at a time but I wasn't in it for the weight loss. Most of the time, the loss followed some very tame S days.

The sad truth is the shorter you are, the less on average you can eat because even your inner organs are proportionally smaller.

Plus, it takes a year of eating a reduction of 100 calories a day to SUSTAIN a weight loss of 10 pounds. If you to the calculations, it would seem you can go faster, but because you are losing along the way, you need less food.

Of course, if you can expend another 100 calories a day more than you have been, it will go faster and exercise is the best boost for maintaining.

It may be possible after several months to be happy with cutting another 100 calories.

You don't have to count calories. It's estimated that each bite of dense food on average is 25 calories. So 4 fewer bites per day. It could mean just serving yourself a little less dense food at each meal or leaving a little on the plate. (Don't count veggies unless they have a fatty sauce!)

I talk about 100 calories a day because that is a lot less painful than much more. It's adherence to sustainability that works! Most people don't make it even a few weeks! Not dropping out/being able to stick with something for a few years is the hallmark of success. MOST people who gain lost weight do because they don't keep eating their new baseline because they just don't like it and feel it isn't worth the sacrifice, even to be thin- or alive.

This is way more detail than No S is supposed to be about, but I know you're feeling frustrated.

Speaking of standing on my feet, I'd better go finish the dishes and bring the rugs back in!

Thanks for the encouragement girls!

As a result of the frustration, yesterday I had another red day. I did my three meals well, but at night I had two pieces of cake. The result of this: 2 lbs more today.
I'm at the starting point where I started this month, I had 4 lbs lost, but I've recovered everything.

I have decided to create a Habitcal so as not to weigh me down. I will mark in green every day that I do not and I will only weigh on the 1st of each month. If they come after a holiday, I'll wait two days to do it.

I have a lot of excess weight (130 lbs), and I feel tired and in pain because of it. But I am not able to follow another plan that No S, so I am going to commit myself not to weigh myself, I will avoid feeling this bad.

Hi Dalia,
Sorry to hear that you’re having a tough time right now. ðŸ’

At the beginning of my own No S journey, I kept away from the scale. I think it really helped, and if I started struggling to comply with the rules, I would stay off the scale again. It helps you focus on building the habits, and to commit yourself to building them whether they make you lose weight or not. So it sounds to me like you are going in the right direction, making that decision. I think it will help.

Another thing I’ve done in the difficult times is treat myself to really indulgent drinks - ones that are as delicious as those pieces of cake. Ones you can fantasise about! So, latte, hot chocolate, strawberry milkshake, cherry kefir, the lot! They might not help you lose weight in the short term, but they help you get the No S habit, and then later on you find you don’t need them, and weight loss can begin again. Calorific drinks have helped me so much in difficult times! And you still get a green square.

Stay with us, Dalia! And keep smiling. X

Octavia, you do not know what your message has moved me. To know that being bad there is someone who wants to help you is very nice, I thank you from my heart.

After the bad start of the day, I have not thought about the weight again, I'm keeping green and that's it. Curiously, if I do not remember what the scale indicates, I feel lighter, more fit, and I get tired less. I am a slave to the peso and let it determine how I should feel, so that I definitely have to change it.

Thanks for the suggestion of the drinks. I usually drink coffee or tea with milk when I'm hungry, but I've never thought about using it as comfort. And it is true that maybe a smoothie with milk or something similar would have helped ... I have it in mind!

Have a great day. And here you have me for what you need.

If the scale helps a person CALMLY and RATIONALLY make changes to her eating, it's a great thing. Otherwise, it's a big-time obstacle.

You are NOT necessarily back where you were after a water gain from cake! Nor are you back to square one with the habit.

You cannot know what you can successfully mess with until you have a baseline of decent habits.

Did you say you have 130 lbs. to lose? What determines that amount? How much less than that would you be willing to consider as reasonable?

oolala53 wrote:

You are absolutely right ... yesterday I tried to forget all this weight issue and I focused on how good I felt with No S. Physically, I feel lighter and more agile, I get tired less when I climb a hill, I sleep better, I sweat less ... but the big change is psychological. It has improved my mood, my libido, my relationship with food, and even my anger. I used to be irascible all day and every day (I imagine that as a result of my eating disorder), and now, my anger has vanished and I can not even remotely explain all the peace that brings me.

So, of course, I'm still with No S, and I'm going to try to accept my body as it is, and if I lose weight, it will be welcome, but I'm not going to make it the center of all this.

With 97 lbs less it would be fine and it would be acceptable. And it sounds much better !!!! :D

Thanks for your support and for being so clear. Do not imagine how much help and how good your practical approach is. Thank you, thank you and thank you!

I had not considered that it was because of the sugar, I thought it had been because I had no food restricted ... but it is very possible that you are right, I think there are studies that show something similar, that consuming too much sugar can influence our state of spirit :)

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that has happened to him.

It is very good to feel relaxed and focus only on enjoying the food when you play, Octavia, I am glad you are at that point of the road

April summary:

19 green.
9 yellows.
3 reds.

I have lost 2.2 lbs. (but I'm a bit angry, I had come to lose 4.8 )
Still, happy. I'm losing weight and I'm not anxious about food. I enjoy my days No S, but I still go with care in my days S.

Nothing to tell...

I'm still on the weight loss plateau, but curiously, I do not feel like giving up or starting a new diet. I'm taking a pulse of my body, I want to see if I will truly begin to descend again with perseverance...

I'm glad you're not giving up. I've left No S several times in the past. Looking for a quicker method, out of fear. But, common sense would bring me back. I didn't even think I had another try in me when starting again April 12th. This time though, I decided to follow the No S system and never quit.. Why? For the cure of a lifetime of the diet roller coaster. Yes I want to lose the weight, but this way when it happens it will be permanent. I realize that focusing on weight loss and even health have not proved to be proper motivating forces for me any more. Didn't mean this to be about me, it's just to let you know you are in the right place. Stick it out and don't leave, and in time you will get the results for good. No S is the permanent fix.

Hi Dalia. I think your goal to not weigh yourself for a month is a good idea. It’s really hard though. Can you put the scale out of reach or give it to a friend or relative to hold onto for a month? But when you do weigh again, don’t put too much emphasis on that one weight because it could be high for many reasons. If you stay away from the scale for awhile, when you weigh again, do so for a few days in a row so you get a better idea of your real weight, not just on one day. I applaud your determination to not give up! ðŸ‘ðŸ½

Thanks for your wonderful words, girls.

Beginagain, I agree that No S is the right path. I also think that any weight loss, however small, is permanent. Now I say goodbye to the numbers on the scale with the total belief that I will not see them again. I have a past of numerous diets and it is true that the focus on weight loss and health does not work.

Hello Crystal! As you see, I'm not able to not weigh myself for a month, not even for a day  , but it's been worth it. Now I will try not to weigh myself until next Saturday, I think it is much more feasible. A hug!
