The Christmas 2018 to Christmas 2019 log

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

The Christmas 2018 to Christmas 2019 log

Post by LoriLifts » Tue Dec 25, 2018 11:20 pm

Merry Christmas my No S friends!

Like the ghost of Christmas past, I return to my old haunts.

My 2019 resolution is to maintain a log on a regular basis.

It begins today, which conveniently is a (S) holiday.

I have lots to write about. Since it's an S day, I will save it for N days, when I'm not snacking!

Sure is good to be back!

Thanks for the welcome Ladybird!

I'm still lifting. My last power lifting event was in November. I'm happy to report that all my records are intact!

I enjoy participating in Power lifting events. What I don't enjoy is the mandatory weigh-ins. Despite resisting, I started to obsess about the number on the scale.

I'm switching to stair climbing events in 2019. My first one is in February, climbing 108 floors at the Stratosphere. No weigh-in required!

Welcome!
Your stair-climbing challenges sound fun. And I am huge fan/supporter of keeping a regular journal. This is as good a place as any. :-)

We kinda started on the same day! (I officially started on the 26th specifically because of Christmas being an S Day lol but we started following the pattern on the same day n.n)

Hey autoeats, I know you! I'm glad you're still on the forum!
Keeping up this log is my NY resolution. I will do it, even if I just type a couple rambling sentences.

So, here's my plan.
Vanilla S. Adding tweaks gets me in trouble.
S days run from Friday 5pm to Sunday 5pm

I'm staying off the scale, at least for awhile. In April I'm doing a Tactical Strength Contest. Mandatory weigh-in before the event starts. Until that time, I may stay away from numbers.
