There are lots on this board that eat (or have eaten) 4 meals a day. A planned snack is a common mod, especially early. I think Alene was doing that.

I personally have never done that (on purpose, lol). If I am hungry between meals I have decaf coffee w/milk or cream.

Sounds like a good plan! Figure out your inner rebel and reasonably appease it while you build sustainable habits.

Hi, Dana! I gently suggest you start thinking that you tell your body when to eat, not when it wants it. We have paired eating with countless situations, thoughts, places, people, and on and on and on. It almost never had to do with need, just a paired stimulus. Humans are opportunistic eaters! But we are all free to choose how often, how much, and what we eat. No S is about trying to decrease the decisions. It's the deciding all day that wears us out! But it's also true that we can phase in the habits. As someone said, lots of people start with a planned snack during their hardest meal gap. Others use a beverage. That was my go to because having a decaf mocha with stevia never made me want to go to town on food, but small snacks often led to WTH (what the hell, an actual willpower research term)! Sounds like you've made your choice for this week, and that's perfect.

Another great thing about No S is it's built in that you have to adjust as you go. It is not some prescribed program that you're either not going to be able to keep up or have to adjust a lot later anyway for other reasons. But it means that up front, it's more "mysterious." Am I doing it right? people often think. It can take awhile to figure what is doing it right for you, but it's also true that it probably won't be that far off from what has kept traditional societies slim for generations.

Glad to meet you!

Hope you got to bed reasonably! :-)
I wear a fitbit that gives me my sleep score and that is a motivator for me to get to bed and prioritize sleep.
