Jessies Daughter CHECK-IN

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

Jessies Daughter CHECK-IN

Post by Jessies Daughter » Wed May 07, 2008 2:22 am

FAILURE
Done in by a tangerine that I forgot to remove from my lunch bag. I saw it in the bag and reached for it, peeled it and realized halfway through eating it that I was SNACKING.

Mindless nibbling... I must develop ways if thinking before I reach to eat!Not discouraged, just looking to do a better job tomorrow! :) [/b]

SUCCESS

Tried to "graze" around 11:00 a.m.this morning. Walked all the way downstairs to the microwave, nuked my food, walked all the way back upsairs to my desk, sat down, and realized that I was not hungry. I did not eat. Grazing is habit but, I m determined to break it.

SUCCESS!!!!!

Went to breakfast after church, around 9:30 a.m., had my favorite, Creamed Chipped Beef...

Got rather busy, housework, changing out the closet from winter to summer clothes. I was not hungry and did not eat lunch. Took an afternoon nap, woke up around 4:00 p.m. had the other half of my Kosher pickle.

Went to a Mothers Day Fish Fry around 6:30 p.m.. Had one piece of fish, potato salad, one half ear of corn, cole slaw, Kiwi Strawberry soda. Had one small slice Pecan Pound cake and one half scoop ice cream.

Had a Blood Orange Margarita.

Looking forward to my second week!

Blueskighs

Cereal is an easy weekday breakfast so Uncle Sams was a plesent surprise. Not much of a cereal lover so I am finding that I get into one cereal and stick to it until I get tired. I do plan on trying Ezekiel Cereal, I like the bread so perhaps I will like the cereal as well.
