I have been getting my DDP Yoga workouts in. Last Friday I got the Extreme workout in. More of an Insanity type workout than a "true" yoga workout.

How are all my pals doing? School starts in a month, which is good,I am spirraling without the structure of work. Fifteen years until I retire, my wife is already dreading it.

I shelved the DDP Yoga, I started having all kinds of lower back pain. So I am doin the once a week Super Slow workout and concentrating on my back and stomach. Today was a very good workout, and I actually feel good from the waist down. The owner of the rehab center where I resistance train asked me why I quit in the first place. :?: It is what it is.

Well, headed to Northern California in few days.

I did not get sore from Wednesday's workout, and looking forward to this coming Wednesday's workout.

I am back on Cymbalta, my grandfather is in his last few days, weeks, months? And I have had some anxiety. It seems (Cymbalta) to take the edge off.

I have been failing on a spectacular level lately. Monday and Tuesday were a wash. Today has been good. So far scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast and a garlic chicken sausage, wheat thins, and a pickle for lunch.

I need to start flying straight, I appear to be showing some pre-diabetes signs...i.e., eating stuff and getting drowsy, dry mouth, and what ever else. I ate an apple and a nectarine the other day and about went comatose.

Got my weekly Power of 10 workout in this morning.

Update: Success! Dinner was teryaki chicken, salad and watermelon. I played golf for the first time in almost a month. It showed, and I have a sore back for my effort.

Good night.

Failure

Something got me eating candy in the AM. By the PM I could barely walk. It is interesting the affect sugary foods have on me now. I lose physical strength and at times slur when I talk. The Mt. Dew didn't help either.

So, it seems a "well balanced" meal helps with the above issues. I go in, in a month to get re-tested for hormone levels, I guess I'll get another Diabetes check then.

Exercise: None, unless tapping my foot to "Tommy" counts.

Today was already a failure. But, progress was made.

I think I stated previously I had been having diabetes like symptoms: grogginess after eating, shakes, eating and having to eat again, low blood sugar, sweats, etc.

I had been taking a hormone replacement therapy. I stopped last Friday and today was a 180° turn around. I haven't felt this good in a month.

I guess there are no shortcuts.

S Days

No exercise this weekenr, recovery is a good thing.

Food, I ate, but not as much as on a "normal" weekend. I think the Metformin, a blood sugar reducer, is also reducing my appetite. Which makes sense, increased blood sugar levels seem to increase appetite. In researching it, it is a "wonder drug" from the 1920's that was "forgotten" when MDs fell in love with insulin.

The one side affect is stomach discomfort a couple of hours after taking it. So, I think I'll only take one tablet a day instead of the two.

The yoga is working my back over, so tomorrow I might start heavy bag and heavy rope work. I just hate the thought of lifting weights, and even though I dig the yoga, it gets painful.

The Metformin has upped the ante on my stomach discomfort with multiple trips to the lounge the last couple of days. I thought I had either a "food born" bacteria or a virus, but I dug a little deeper into Metformin side effects, and sure enough.

So, I am going to continue to lower calorie intake, via No S, and exercise.

It's all good. I got through work today, no problems. Thanks for the thoughts. It will take a few days for the med to work its way through my system. Had to restart a workout after work though.

First time back to work in 11 days, Christmas Break. The structure is good.

Success!

Lunch: ham sandwich, salad, handful of Chili Fritos

My husband wants to try the garcina cambogia (something like that).

I love eggs and when I eat them for breakfast it helps with wanting to eat too much later in the day. My best friend has a few chickens and when I see her she gives me some...yummy..especially because in the summer they get into all her plants :), so very organic!
Metformin is a prescription.

Yes, the Rose Bowl is an American football tradition.

No S Jan 4-5, 2014

A good weekend. Saturday was probably over the top, 6-7 hours of watching football, so a bit of snacking. But today was manageable, very good for an S Day.

Success!

Breakfast: home made breakfast burrito, Diet Code Red Mt. Dew

Lunch: a thermos of Western Family chicken noodle soup, ham sandwich, 1/4 of a dill pickle

Dinner: Rice a Roni (I think) herb vermicelli noodles w/ diced chicken, and salad

I have lost a bit of weight, a pound or two, probably a hand.

Exercise: 20 minute Soloflex workout (Yes, if you are a child of the 80's, that Soloflex. I have had mine since 1987...)

Was at the doc's today, we discussed my pre-diabetes. I told him about my three meals a day, no snacks sweets, or seconds. He was happy.

Well,

I did not sleep last night. For whatever reason that seems to get me eating more the next day. So today, I ate.

Failure

I have a meeting later on (yippy skippy), so I doubt I'll get any exercise in either.

I'll see you all tomorrow.

It was a nice change. Today was an egg burrito with Vietnamese hot sauce.

But, today, as was yesterday, a Failure!. I am not sure why. Usually I can pinpoint the problem. Not this time.

But, I didi do the Diamond Cutter this morning at 4:45 AM.

Fail!

I am wondering, when I went off the Metformin Jan 1, if that didn't rev up my appetite? I started taking it again this morning, 1/4 tablets to begin with, and a full bottle of Immodium. Supposedly the body adapts to it. I hope so. If anything it seems to work as an appetite suppressant for me, without the insomnia and hyperactivity.

No exercise Friday, but plan on a Diamond Cutter today.

S Days

Yesterday l ate more than I shouldl, I laid around and watched Season 4 Justified. I had not seen it yet. I have now.

Tonight, football. Good luck Seattle. I am a 49er fan, but no sense in not being civil.

Thank you. Versatile if anything.

As for "sane eating" well, not so much. Although today, Jan 28, was a success. I have cut down on the weight lifting, and yoga. I found a set of heavyhands in a box in the shop, and have started using them when I walk.

So, onward to tomorrow.

Failure,

Got that out of the way before 10 AM.

School was cancelled due to -30 with the wind chill. Eating, not so good. Exercise, pretty good. I have been trading off between DDP Yoga and Heavyhands on the treadmill.

Today, off day from exercise. Baking a round of bread at the moment.

March 1 2014

I am down five pounds since mid February.

I am eating less, but not necessarily No S at the moment. I know it is a "legit" five pounds since I stopped taking my water tablets. So, instead of the big fluctuation day to day, this has been a steady decrease.

I am back doing Body by Science workouts as the yoga was/has been killing my back. The doc, as I may have stated before, suggests swimming, but the one pool for thirty miles charges $4 a dip. So, I am going with what works and causes the least amount of pain.

We'll see, maybe I'll post again on Monday.
